天和天上的天，尚且不足他居住的，谁能为他建造殿宇呢？我是谁？能为他建造殿宇吗？不过在他面前烧香而已。

耶和华如此说：“天是我的座位；地是我的脚凳。你们要为我造何等的殿宇？哪里是我安息的地方呢？”耶和华说：“这一切都是我手所造的，所以就都有了。但我所看顾的，就是虚心痛悔、因我话而战兢的人。

“神果真与世人同住在地上吗？看哪，天和天上的天尚且不足你居住的，何况我所建的这殿呢？

众人将耶和华的约柜请进去，安放在所预备的地方，就是在大卫所搭的帐幕里。大卫在耶和华面前献燔祭和平安祭。

祭司和利未人将耶和华的约柜运上来，又将会幕和会幕的一切圣器具都带上来。

“我们的祖宗在旷野，有法柜的帐幕，是神吩咐摩西叫他照所看见的样式做的。这帐幕，我们的祖宗相继承受。当神在他们面前赶出外邦人去的时候，他们同约书亚把帐幕搬进承受为业之地，直存到大卫的日子。大卫在神面前蒙恩，祈求为雅各的神预备居所；却是所罗门为神造成殿宇。其实，至高者并不住人手所造的，就如先知所言：‘主说：天是我的座位，地是我的脚凳；你们要为我造何等的殿宇？哪里是我安息的地方呢？这一切不都是我手所造的吗？’

“神果真住在地上吗？看哪，天和天上的天尚且不足你居住的，何况我所建的这殿呢？
