“ Go, tell my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD says:“ You must not build me a house in which to live.

“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

“ Go and speak to my servant David. Tell him,‘ The Lord says,“ You are not the one who will build me a house to live in.

“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord: It is not you who will build me a house to dwell in.

“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord has declared: You are not the one to build a house for me to live in.

“ Go to David my servant and say,‘ This is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

“ Go and tell David My servant,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ You shall not build a house for Me to dwell in;

“ Go and tell My servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ You shall not build Me a house to dwell in.

Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith Jehovah, Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in:

“ Go to David My servant and say,‘ This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build Me a house to dwell in.

Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:

“ Go and tell David my servant,‘ Yahweh says,“ You shall not build me a house to dwell in;

King David rose to his feet and said:“ Listen to me, my brothers and my people. I wanted to build a temple where the ark of the LORD’s covenant could be placed as a footstool for our God. I have made the preparations for building it.But God said to me,‘ You must not build a temple to honor me, for you are a warrior and have spilled blood.’

Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments and how fathomless his ways!For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been his counselor?

“ Indeed, my plans are not like your plans, and my deeds are not like your deeds,for just as the sky is higher than the earth, so my deeds are superior to your deeds and my plans superior to your plans.

That night the LORD told Nathan,“ Go, tell my servant David:‘ This is what the LORD says: Do you really intend to build a house for me to live in?

The LORD told my father David,‘ It is right for you to have a strong desire to build a temple to honor me.But you will not build the temple; your very own son will build the temple for my honor.’

But you will not build the temple; your very own son will build the temple for my honor.’

David said to Solomon:“ My son, I really wanted to build a temple to honor the LORD my God.But the LORD said to me:‘ You have spilled a great deal of blood and fought many battles. You must not build a temple to honor me, for you have spilled a great deal of blood on the ground before me.
