“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

“ Go and speak to my servant David. Tell him,‘ The Lord says,“ You are not the one who will build me a house to live in.

“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord: It is not you who will build me a house to dwell in.

“ Go and tell my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord has declared: You are not the one to build a house for me to live in.

“ Go to David my servant and say,‘ This is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

“ Go and tell David My servant,‘ This is what the Lord says:“ You shall not build a house for Me to dwell in;

“ Go and tell My servant David,‘ Thus says the Lord:“ You shall not build Me a house to dwell in.

Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith Jehovah, Thou shalt not build me a house to dwell in:

“ Go to David My servant and say,‘ This is what the Lord says: You are not the one to build Me a house to dwell in.

大衛王站起來說：「我的弟兄，我的人民啊，請聽我說。我本想建造一座殿宇安放耶和華的約櫃，作我們上帝的腳凳，我已準備好建造的材料。但上帝對我說，『你不可為我的名建造殿宇，因為你是個戰士，曾流過人的血。』

啊，上帝的智慧和知識多麼博大精深！祂的判斷多麼難測！祂的蹤跡多麼難尋！誰曾知道主的心意？誰曾做過祂的謀士？

耶和華說：「我的意念並非你們的意念，我的道路並非你們的道路。正如天高過地，我的道路也高過你們的道路，我的意念也高過你們的意念。

當晚耶和華對拿單說：「你去告訴我的僕人大衛，『耶和華說，你豈是為我建造殿宇的人？

但耶和華對我父大衛說，『你想為我建殿，這番心意是好的，但你不要建，要由你的親生兒子為我建殿。』

但你不要建，要由你的親生兒子為我建殿。』

他對所羅門說：「兒啊，我本想為我的上帝耶和華的名建造一座殿宇。但耶和華對我說，『你殺了許多人，打了很多仗，在我眼前使許多人血灑大地，因此你不可為我的名建造殿宇。
