And now, O God, in addition to everything else, you speak of giving your servant a lasting dynasty! You speak as though I were someone very great, O Lord God!

上帝啊，不止如此，你还应许将来要恩待仆人的后裔。耶和华上帝啊，你视我为尊贵的人。

神啊，这在你眼中看为小事，你对你仆人的家的未来发出应许！耶和华神啊，你看我好像一个高贵的人。

神啊，這在你眼中還看為小，又應許你僕人的家至於久遠。耶和華神啊，你看顧我好像看顧高貴的人。

上帝啊，這在你眼中還看為小，你又說到你僕人的家將來的情況。耶和華上帝啊，你看顧我好像看顧尊貴的人。

神啊，這在你眼中還看為小，你又說到你僕人的家將來的情況。耶和華神啊，你看顧我好像看顧尊貴的人。

上帝啊，不止如此，你還應許將來要恩待僕人的後裔。耶和華上帝啊，你視我為尊貴的人。

神啊，這在你眼中看為小事，你對你僕人的家的未來發出應許！耶和華神啊，你看我好像一個高貴的人。

然而上帝啊、這在你眼中雖看為小事，你卻說到你僕人家的事至於久遠！永恆主上帝啊，你竟看我有上級人士的地位啊！

上帝歟、此於爾目、猶以為小、爾又言及爾僕之家、至於久遠、耶和華上帝歟、爾之待我、等於尊顯之人、

曾是上帝、以今所行、猶為不足、復有應許、欲昌我後、至於恆久、耶和華上帝錫我、得同於斯世之豪傑。

天主歟、此恩在主目中猶以為小、更許施恩於僕之家、至於久遠、主天主歟、恩待我較勝於他人、又作待我與待至高之人無異

And as if this were not enough in your sight, my God, you have spoken about the future of the house of your servant. You, Lord God, have looked on me as though I were the most exalted of men.

I would have thought that you had already done more than enough for me. But now, my God, you have spoken about my royal house. You have said what will happen to it in days to come. Lord God, you have treated me as if I were the most honored man of all.

And this was a small thing in your eyes, O God. You have also spoken of your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have shown me future generations, O Lord God!

This was a little thing to you, God, for you have spoken about your servant’s house in the distant future. You regard me as a man of distinction, LORD God.

This was a small thing in Your eyes, God; but You have spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have viewed me according to the standard of a person of high degree, Lord God.

And yet this was a small thing in Your sight, O God; and You have also spoken of Your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have regarded me according to the rank of a man of high degree, O Lord God.

And this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; but thou hast spoken of thy servant’s house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O Jehovah God.

This was a little thing to You, God, for You have spoken about Your servant’s house in the distant future. You regard me as a man of distinction, Lord God.

And[ yet] this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast[ also] spoken of thy servant’s house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.

And you did not stop there, O God! You have also spoken about the future of your servant’s family. You have revealed to me what men long to know, O LORD God.

This was a small thing in your eyes, God; but you have spoken of your servant’s house for a great while to come, and have respected me according to the standard of a man of high degree, Yahweh God.

he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names,that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

He says,“ You will do more than restore the people of Israel to me. I will make you a light to the Gentiles, and you will bring my salvation to the ends of the earth.”

For when you die and join your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, one of your sons, and I will make his kingdom strong.He is the one who will build a house— a temple— for me. And I will secure his throne forever.I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my favor from him as I took it from the one who ruled before you.I will confirm him as king over my house and my kingdom for all time, and his throne will be secure forever.’”So Nathan went back to David and told him everything the Lord had said in this vision.

“ Now go and say to my servant David,‘ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies has declared: I took you from tending sheep in the pasture and selected you to be the leader of my people Israel.I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth!

And I will also give you what you did not ask for— riches and fame! No other king in all the world will be compared to you for the rest of your life!

He chose his servant David, calling him from the sheep pens.He took David from tending the ewes and lambs and made him the shepherd of Jacob’s descendants— God’s own people, Israel.He cared for them with a true heart and led them with skillful hands.

But this is only a simple thing for the Lord, for he will make you victorious over the army of Moab!

And now, Sovereign Lord, in addition to everything else, you speak of giving your servant a lasting dynasty! Do you deal with everyone this way, O Sovereign Lord?

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.

I gave you your master’s house and his wives and the kingdoms of Israel and Judah. And if that had not been enough, I would have given you much, much more.

Long ago you spoke in a vision to your faithful people. You said,“ I have raised up a warrior. I have selected him from the common people to be king.I have found my servant David. I have anointed him with my holy oil.I will steady him with my hand; with my powerful arm I will make him strong.His enemies will not defeat him, nor will the wicked overpower him.I will beat down his adversaries before him and destroy those who hate him.My faithfulness and unfailing love will be with him, and by my authority he will grow in power.I will extend his rule over the sea, his dominion over the rivers.And he will call out to me,‘ You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation.’I will make him my firstborn son, the mightiest king on earth.I will love him and be kind to him forever; my covenant with him will never end.I will preserve an heir for him; his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven.But if his descendants forsake my instructions and fail to obey my regulations,if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands,then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their disobedience with beating.But I will never stop loving him nor fail to keep my promise to him.No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said.I have sworn an oath to David, and in my holiness I cannot lie:His dynasty will go on forever; his kingdom will endure as the sun.It will be as eternal as the moon, my faithful witness in the sky!” Interlude
