and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also subdue all your enemies.“‘ I declare to you that the Lord will build a house for you:

That is what your enemies have done ever since I appointed leaders over my people Israel. But I will bring all your enemies under your control.“‘ “I tell you that I, the Lord, will build a royal house for your family.

They turned quickly from the way in which their fathers walked, in obeying the commandments of the Lord; they did not do so.And when the Lord raised up judges for them, the Lord was with the judge and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge; for the Lord was moved to pity by their groaning because of those who oppressed them and harassed them.

I will beat down his foes before his face, And plague those who hate him.

For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.

The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”

And so it was, because the midwives feared God, that He provided households for them.

Your hand will find all Your enemies; Your right hand will find those who hate You.You shall make them as a fiery oven in the time of Your anger; The Lord shall swallow them up in His wrath, And the fire shall devour them.

Unless the Lord builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain.

Blessed be my Rock! Let the God of my salvation be exalted.It is God who avenges me, And subdues the peoples under me;He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man.Therefore I will give thanks to You, O Lord, among the Gentiles, And sing praises to Your name.Great deliverance He gives to His king, And shows mercy to His anointed, To David and his descendants forevermore.

So it was, whenever Israel had sown, Midianites would come up; also Amalekites and the people of the East would come up against them.Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey.For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, coming in as numerous as locusts; both they and their camels were without number; and they would enter the land to destroy it.So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord.

Therefore the anger of the Lord was hot against Israel, and He sold them into the hand of Cushan-Rishathaim king of Mesopotamia; and the children of Israel served Cushan-Rishathaim eight years.

And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord; for Jabin had nine hundred chariots of iron, and for twenty years he had harshly oppressed the children of Israel.
