After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

David moved into his palace. Then he spoke to Nathan the prophet. He said,“ Here I am, living in a house that has beautiful cedar walls. But the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

Now when David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

When David was settled in his palace, he summoned Nathan the prophet.“ Look,” David said,“ I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant is out there under a tent!”

When David had settled into his palace, he said to the prophet Nathan,“ Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the LORD’s covenant is under tent curtains.”

And it came about, when David lived in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look, I am living in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains.”

Now it came to pass, when David was dwelling in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet,“ See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains.”

And it came to pass, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Jehovah dwelleth under curtains.

When David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the Lord’s covenant is under tent curtains.”

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD[ remaineth] under curtains.

When David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look, I am living in a palace made from cedar, while the ark of the LORD’s covenant is under a tent.”

When David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of Yahweh’s covenant is in a tent.”

大闢在邑建眾宮室、為上帝匱張幕。

我自導以色列族以來、迄於今日、未嘗居殿、由此遷彼、行於帷幕。

大闢獲寵於上帝前、欲為雅各之上帝創殿、

王遣祭司撒督、先知拿單、耶何耶大子庇拿雅、同劊役皂隸、從所羅門、使乘王騾、

惟祭司撒督、及耶何耶大子庇拿雅、先知拿單、示每、哩以、暨大闢之武士、咸弗協從。

或告王曰、先知拿單至。既至王前、俯伏於地。

人舁耶和華之匱、置於其所、在大闢所張之幕、大闢獻燔祭、及酬恩祭、奉事耶和華。

眾舁上帝匱、置大闢所張之幕、獻燔祭及酬恩祭於上帝前、

推羅王希蘭遣使至大闢、攜柏香木、偕木工石工、為之建宮。

王坐於宮庭、蒙耶和華錫以綏安、不為四周之敵所害。諭先知拿單曰、我居之宮、以柏香木創造、而上帝之匱、反在幔中。拿單曰、耶和華祐爾、任意以行。是夕耶和華命拿單曰、往告我僕大闢、耶和華有言曰、欲建殿宇、為我居處、豈在爾乎。我自導以色列族出埃及以來、迄於今日、恆寓帷幕、未嘗居殿。我與以色列族偕、簡於支派之中、得數人使牧我民、我曷嘗命建柏香木殿、為我居所乎。今當告我僕大闢、萬有之主耶和華云、昔爾在羊牢牧羊、我特遴選爾、使為我民以色列族長。不論所往、我眷祐爾、絕爾諸敵、錫爾大名、同於斯世之豪傑。我賜土於我民以色列族、使安居其所、得有恆業、不復遷移、不遭惡人之害。如在疇昔、我命士師治理我民、以色列族、今我賜安於爾、不為敵所害、自此而後、必永爾國祚。爾逝世之期既至、得與祖父同墓、我將以爾所出之苗裔、使繼爾位、鞏固其國、彼將為我建殿、我必俾其國祚恆久弗替。我必為其父、彼必為我子、若其行惡、我將責之、猶人之督責其子。我必待之以恩、不若掃羅、恩義已絕。昔我棄掃羅、簡擇於爾、必昌熾爾後、綿長爾祚、永世弗替。拿單見異象、聞諭言、以告大闢。大闢王入耶和華所、坐於前、禱曰、我主耶和華歟、我何人斯、我家世式微、乃蒙爾導我、有此今日、曾是我主、以今所行、猶為不足、復有應許、欲昌我後、至於恆久、此豈世所常有乎。我更有何辭哉。我主耶和華素悉僕衷、爾有大作為、任意應許、爾曾言之、使僕預知。我聞於人、耶和華上帝至大、無可比儗、其外無他。昔爾涖臨埃及、拯以色列族、使為爾民、而名以播揚。爾行大事、深為可畏、以保爾民、斯土之眾、及其上帝、被爾驅逐、如是天下之億兆安能與斯民比儗乎。以色列族之上帝耶和華歟、爾簡斯眾、以為爾民、恆久不已。耶和華上帝、應許爾僕、克昌厥後、願踐前言、永世弗忘。萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華、爾名永尊、願爾僕大闢之後、寖昌寖熾、萬有之主以色列族之上帝耶和華已示厥僕、其後必昌、故爾僕敢祈禱若是。我主耶和華、爾乃上帝、所言真實無妄、爾有應許、賜僕純嘏。我主耶和華有言、錫嘏於爾僕之家、備於爾前、永世靡暨、今我禱告、願爾前言是踐。

惟上帝之法匱、為大闢所舁、自基列耶林至耶路撒冷、進所備之幕。

我父大闢欲建殿、奉事以色列族之上帝耶和華、而籲其名。耶和華諭之曰、爾欲建殿、為籲我名之所、此舉甚善。然爾不得建殿、惟爾一脈之裔必建殿、以籲我名。

十二月終、我遊於巴比倫殿、自謂此非巴比倫大城、我所建造者乎、我以之為國都、顯我能、彰我榮、

爾所居之屋、以板附壁、使斯殿荒蕪、豈在斯時乎、

惟俟雅各有能之主耶和華得駐蹕之所兮。

耶和華遣拿單見大闢、告曰、邑中有二人、一富一貧、

張幕、施幬於其上、循耶和華命。以律法藏於匱、貫杠於旁、置施恩之所於上、舁匱入幕、垂簾於前、以蔽法匱、循耶和華命。

我尼布甲尼撒晏處深宮、時值昇平、

遣先知拿單、賜子名耶底太亞、見愛於耶和華故也。○

耶和華曰、爾雖以柏香木為板、以示華美、豈得恆居王位。爾父日用飲食、躬行仁義、而享福祉、彼為貧乏伸冤、既識我道、遂得亨通、

昔爾慕多得少、攜物至家、我吹之飄沒者、誠何故耶、因爾各顧其廬、而我殿宇傾圮、毫不介意、萬有之主耶和華已言之矣。
