After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Here I am, living in a house of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

David moved into his palace. Then he spoke to Nathan the prophet. He said,“ Here I am, living in a house that has beautiful cedar walls. But the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

Now when David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under a tent.”

When David was settled in his palace, he summoned Nathan the prophet.“ Look,” David said,“ I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant is out there under a tent!”

When David had settled into his palace, he said to the prophet Nathan,“ Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the LORD’s covenant is under tent curtains.”

And it came about, when David lived in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look, I am living in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains.”

Now it came to pass, when David was dwelling in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet,“ See now, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of the Lord is under tent curtains.”

And it came to pass, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Jehovah dwelleth under curtains.

When David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look! I am living in a cedar house while the ark of the Lord’s covenant is under tent curtains.”

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD[ remaineth] under curtains.

When David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look, I am living in a palace made from cedar, while the ark of the LORD’s covenant is under a tent.”

When David lived in his house, David said to Nathan the prophet,“ Behold, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of Yahweh’s covenant is in a tent.”

大卫在大卫城为自己建造宫殿，并为上帝的约柜预备地方，支搭帐篷。

从我把以色列人带出埃及那天起直到今天，我从未住过殿宇，都住在四处迁移的帐篷里。

大卫蒙上帝悦纳，祈求为雅各的上帝建造一座圣殿。

王派撒督祭司、拿单先知、耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅，以及基利提人和比利提人护送所罗门骑上王的骡子。

不过，撒督祭司、耶何耶大的儿子比拿雅、拿单先知、示每、利以和大卫的勇士却没有跟随他。

有人奏告王，说：“拿单先知来了。”拿单来到王面前，俯伏在地，

他们把耶和华的约柜抬来，安放在大卫准备好的帐篷里。大卫在耶和华面前献上燔祭和平安祭，

众人将上帝的约柜抬进去，安放在大卫所搭的帐篷里，然后在上帝面前献上燔祭和平安祭。

泰尔王希兰差遣使者带着香柏木、木匠和石匠去为大卫建造宫殿。

大卫住在王宫里，耶和华使他安享太平，不受四围的仇敌侵扰。一天，王对拿单先知说：“你看！我住在香柏木造的王宫中，但上帝的约柜还留在帐篷里。”拿单答道：“你只管照着自己的想法去做吧，因为耶和华与你同在。”当晚耶和华对拿单说：“你去告诉我的仆人大卫，‘耶和华说，你岂是为我建造殿宇的人？从我把以色列人带出埃及那天起，直到今天，我从未住过殿宇，一路上都住在帐篷里。在我与以色列人同行的日子，我从未责问任何我委派牧养我子民的士师，你为何不为我建香柏木的殿宇呢？’“现在你要告诉我的仆人大卫，万军之耶和华说，‘你原本在草场牧羊，我召你来做我以色列子民的首领。无论你去哪里，我都与你同在，为你铲除所有仇敌。现在我要使你声名远播，与世上的伟人齐名。我必为我的以色列子民预备一个地方，栽培他们，让他们住在自己的家园，不再受惊扰，不会像从前我设立士师治理他们的时候那样受恶人压迫。我必使你安定，免受仇敌的侵扰。我耶和华向你宣告，我必建立你的王室。

大卫已经把上帝的约柜从基列·耶琳搬到耶路撒冷，因为他在那里为约柜搭了一个帐篷。

所罗门又说：“我父大卫曾想建一座殿来尊崇以色列的上帝耶和华之名，但耶和华对我父大卫说，‘你想为我建殿，这番心意是好的，但你不要建，要由你的亲生儿子为我建殿。’

十二个月后，他在巴比伦王宫的屋顶散步时，说：“这宏伟的巴比伦岂不是我用大能建立为京都，以显我的威严和荣耀吗？”

“这殿还是一片废墟，你们却住在华丽的房子里。

耶和华派拿单先知去见大卫。拿单对大卫说：“一座城里有两个人，一个富有，一个贫穷。

在圣幕上面搭起罩棚，铺上顶盖，都遵照耶和华的吩咐。他把约版放在约柜里，横杠穿在约柜的两旁，施恩座放在约柜上，把约柜抬进圣幕，挂起幔子遮掩约柜，都遵照耶和华的吩咐。

“我尼布甲尼撒安居在家，在宫中享受荣华。

祂差遣拿单先知去赐给他一个名字——耶底底亚，意思是耶和华喜爱他。

难道你大肆使用香柏木就能显出你做王的气派吗？你父亲也吃也喝，但他秉公行义，所以他凡事顺利；

你们盼望丰收，结果收的很少；你们把收成带回家，我却把它们吹走。这是什么缘故？万军之耶和华告诉你们，‘因为你们都忙于建自家的房子，任由我的殿一片废墟。

大卫王一生的事迹都记在撒母耳先见、拿单先知和迦得先见的史记上。
