With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and designated by name to give thanks to the Lord,“ for his love endures forever.”

Heman and Jeduthun were with the priests. So were the rest of those who had been chosen by name and appointed to serve. They had been chosen to give thanks to the Lord,“ because his faithful love continues forever.”

With them were Heman and Jeduthun and the rest of those chosen and expressly named to give thanks to the Lord, for his steadfast love endures forever.

The number of those who did the work according to their service was:of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah. The sons of Asaph were under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied at the order of the king.Of Jeduthun, the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising Yahweh with the harp.Of Heman, the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti- Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.All these were under the hands of their father for song in Yahweh’s house, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and harps, for the service of God’s house: Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.

All the children of Israel looked on, when the fire came down, and Yahweh’s glory was on the house. They bowed themselves with their faces to the ground on the pavement, worshiped, and gave thanks to Yahweh, saying,“ For he is good; for his loving kindness endures forever.”

They sang to one another in praising and giving thanks to Yahweh,“ For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever toward Israel.” All the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Yahweh, because the foundation of Yahweh’s house had been laid.

Moses and Aaron took these men who are mentioned by name.

When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to Yahweh, and give praise in holy array, as they go out before the army, and say,“ Give thanks to Yahweh; for his loving kindness endures forever.”

Oh give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.

For I will cause the captivity of the land to be reversed as at the first,” says Yahweh.

His mercy is for generations of generations on those who fear him.

But Yahweh’s loving kindness is from everlasting to everlasting with those who fear him, his righteousness to children’s children,

and of the temple servants, whom David and the princes had given for the service of the Levites, two hundred twenty temple servants. All of them were mentioned by name.

His brother Asaph, who stood on his right hand, even Asaph the son of Berechiah, the son of Shimea,the son of Michael, the son of Baaseiah, the son of Malchijah,the son of Ethni, the son of Zerah, the son of Adaiah,the son of Ethan, the son of Zimmah, the son of Shimei,the son of Jahath, the son of Gershom, the son of Levi.On the left hand their brothers the sons of Merari: Ethan the son of Kishi, the son of Abdi, the son of Malluch,the son of Hashabiah, the son of Amaziah, the son of Hilkiah,the son of Amzi, the son of Bani, the son of Shemer,the son of Mahli, the son of Mushi, the son of Merari, the son of Levi.

Of the half- tribe of Manasseh: eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.
