As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.

The ark of the covenant of the Lord was brought into the City of David. Saul’s daughter Michal was watching from a window. She saw King David dancing and celebrating. That made her hate him in her heart.

And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

As the ark of the covenant of the LORD was entering the city of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from the window and saw King David leaping and dancing, and she despised him in her heart.

As the ark of Yahweh’s covenant came to David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

When David returned home to bless his own family, Michal, the daughter of Saul, came out to meet him. She said in disgust,“ How distinguished the king of Israel looked today, shamelessly exposing himself to the servant girls like any vulgar person might do!”David retorted to Michal,“ I was dancing before the Lord, who chose me above your father and all his family! He appointed me as the leader of Israel, the people of the Lord, so I celebrate before the Lord.Yes, and I am willing to look even more foolish than this, even to be humiliated in my own eyes! But those servant girls you mentioned will indeed think I am distinguished!”So Michal, the daughter of Saul, remained childless throughout her entire life.

But as the Ark of the Lord entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, she was filled with contempt for him.

“ And when your land is once more filled with people,” says the Lord,“ you will no longer wish for‘ the good old days’ when you possessed the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant. You will not miss those days or even remember them, and there will be no need to rebuild the Ark.

In that room were a gold incense altar and a wooden chest called the Ark of the Covenant, which was covered with gold on all sides. Inside the Ark were a gold jar containing manna, Aaron’s staff that sprouted leaves, and the stone tablets of the covenant.

“ All right,” David replied,“ but I will not negotiate with you unless you bring back my wife Michal, Saul’s daughter, when you come.”David then sent this message to Ishbosheth, Saul’s son:“ Give me back my wife Michal, for I bought her with the lives of 100 Philistines.”

Then Saul sent troops to watch David’s house. They were told to kill David when he came out the next morning. But Michal, David’s wife, warned him,“ If you don’t escape tonight, you will be dead by morning.”So she helped him climb out through a window, and he fled and escaped.Then she took an idol and put it in his bed, covered it with blankets, and put a cushion of goat’s hair at its head.When the troops came to arrest David, she told them he was sick and couldn’t get out of bed.But Saul sent the troops back to get David. He ordered,“ Bring him to me in his bed so I can kill him!”But when they came to carry David out, they discovered that it was only an idol in the bed with a cushion of goat’s hair at its head.“ Why have you betrayed me like this and let my enemy escape?” Saul demanded of Michal.“ I had to,” Michal replied.“ He threatened to kill me if I didn’t help him.”

Saul, meanwhile, had given his daughter Michal, David’s wife, to a man from Gallim named Palti son of Laish.

The Israelites went up seeking direction from the Lord.( In those days the Ark of the Covenant of God was in Bethel,

They marched for three days after leaving the mountain of the Lord, with the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant moving ahead of them to show them where to stop and rest.

Then Miriam the prophet, Aaron’s sister, took a tambourine and led all the women as they played their tambourines and danced.

There will be joy and songs of thanksgiving, and I will multiply my people, not diminish them; I will honor them, not despise them.

Then you can tell them,‘ They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant went across.’ These stones will stand as a memorial among the people of Israel forever.”

But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.

he and his men went out and killed 200 Philistines. Then David fulfilled the king’s requirement by presenting all their foreskins to him. So Saul gave his daughter Michal to David to be his wife.When Saul realized that the Lord was with David and how much his daughter Michal loved him,

Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes!

“ Take this Book of Instruction and place it beside the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord your God, so it may remain there as a witness against the people of Israel.

A time to cry and a time to laugh. A time to grieve and a time to dance.

For I endure insults for your sake; humiliation is written all over my face.Even my own brothers pretend they don’t know me; they treat me like a stranger.Passion for your house has consumed me, and the insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.

After the battle was over, the troops retreated to their camp, and the elders of Israel asked,“ Why did the Lord allow us to be defeated by the Philistines?” Then they said,“ Let’s bring the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord from Shiloh. If we carry it into battle with us, it will save us from our enemies.”

Praise his name with dancing, accompanied by tambourine and harp.

If it seems we are crazy, it is to bring glory to God. And if we are in our right minds, it is for your benefit.

the sounds of joy and laughter. The joyful voices of bridegrooms and brides will be heard again, along with the joyous songs of people bringing thanksgiving offerings to the Lord. They will sing,‘ Give thanks to the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, for the Lord is good. His faithful love endures forever!’ For I will restore the prosperity of this land to what it was in the past, says the Lord.

But others in the crowd ridiculed them, saying,“ They’re just drunk, that’s all!”

You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy,

When David was settled in his palace, he summoned Nathan the prophet.“ Look,” David said,“ I am living in a beautiful cedar palace, but the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant is out there under a tent!”
