As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.

The ark of the covenant of the Lord was brought into the City of David. Saul’s daughter Michal was watching from a window. She saw King David dancing and celebrating. That made her hate him in her heart.

And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

But as the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David skipping about and laughing with joy, she was filled with contempt for him.

As the ark of the covenant of the LORD was entering the city of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from the window and saw King David leaping and dancing, and she despised him in her heart.

When the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating; and she despised him in her heart.

And it happened, as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the City of David, that Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David whirling and playing music; and she despised him in her heart.

And it came to pass, as the ark of the covenant of Jehovah came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the city of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked down from the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

And it came to pass,[ as] the ark of the covenant of the LORD came to the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looking out at a window saw king David dancing and playing: and she despised him in her heart.

As the ark of Yahweh’s covenant came to David’s city, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David dancing and playing; and she despised him in her heart.

When David went home to pronounce a blessing on his own house, Michal, Saul’s daughter, came out to meet him. She said,“ How the king of Israel has distinguished himself this day! He has exposed himself today before his servants’ slave girls the way a vulgar fool might do!”David replied to Michal,“ It was before the LORD! I was celebrating before the LORD, who chose me over your father and his entire family and appointed me as leader over the LORD’s people Israel.I am willing to shame and humiliate myself even more than this! But with the slave girls whom you mentioned let me be distinguished!”Now Michal, Saul’s daughter, had no children to the day of her death.

As the ark of the LORD entered the City of David, Saul’s daughter Michal looked out the window. When she saw King David leaping and dancing before the LORD, she despised him.

In those days, your population will greatly increase in the land. At that time,” says the LORD,“ people will no longer talk about having the ark that contains the LORD’s covenant with us. They will not call it to mind, remember it, or miss it. No, that will not be done any more!

It contained the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered entirely with gold. In this ark were the golden urn containing the manna, Aaron’s rod that budded, and the stone tablets of the covenant.

So David said,“ Good! I will make an agreement with you. I ask only one thing from you. You will not see my face unless you bring Saul’s daughter Michal when you come to visit me.”David sent messengers to Ish-bosheth son of Saul with this demand:“ Give me my wife Michal whom I acquired for a hundred Philistine foreskins.”

Saul sent messengers to David’s house to guard it and to kill him in the morning. Then David’s wife Michal told him,“ If you do not save yourself tonight, tomorrow you will be dead!”So Michal lowered David through the window, and he ran away and escaped.Then Michal took a household idol and put it on the bed. She put a quilt made of goat’s hair over its head and then covered the idol with a garment.When Saul sent messengers to arrest David, she said,“ He’s sick.”Then Saul sent the messengers back to see David, saying,“ Bring him up to me on his bed so I can kill him.”When the messengers came, they found only the idol on the bed and the quilt made of goat’s hair at its head.Saul said to Michal,“ Why have you deceived me this way by sending my enemy away? Now he has escaped!” Michal replied to Saul,“ He said to me,‘ Help me get away or else I will kill you!’”

( Now Saul had given his daughter Michal, David’s wife, to Paltiel son of Laish, who was from Gallim.)

The Israelites asked the LORD( for the ark of God’s covenant was there in those days;

So they traveled from the mountain of the LORD three days’ journey; and the ark of the covenant of the LORD was traveling before them during the three days’ journey, to find a resting place for them.

Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a hand-drum in her hand, and all the women went out after her with hand-drums and with dances.

Out of those places you will hear songs of thanksgiving and the sounds of laughter and merriment. I will increase their number and they will not dwindle away. I will bring them honor and they will no longer be despised.

tell them how the water of the Jordan stopped flowing before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the water of the Jordan stopped flowing. These stones will be a lasting memorial for the Israelites.”

The unbeliever does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him. And he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned.

when David, along with his men, went out and struck down two hundred Philistine men. David brought their foreskins and presented all of them to the king so he could become the king’s son-in-law. Saul then gave him his daughter Michal in marriage.When Saul realized that the LORD was with David and that his daughter Michal loved David,

Praise him with the tambourine and with dancing! Praise him with stringed instruments and the flute!

“ Take this scroll of the law and place it beside the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God. It will remain there as a witness against you,

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

For I suffer humiliation for your sake and am thoroughly disgraced.My own brothers treat me like a stranger; they act as if I were a foreigner.Certainly zeal for your house consumes me; I endure the insults of those who insult you.

When the army came back to the camp, the elders of Israel said,“ Why did the LORD let us be defeated today by the Philistines? Let’s take with us the ark of the covenant of the LORD from Shiloh. When it is with us, it will save us from the hand of our enemies.

Let them praise his name with dancing! Let them sing praises to him to the accompaniment of the tambourine and harp!

For if we are out of our minds, it is for God; if we are of sound mind, it is for you.

Once again there will be sounds of joy and gladness and the glad celebrations of brides and grooms. Once again people will bring their thank offerings to the temple of the LORD and will say,“ Give thanks to the LORD who rules over all. For the LORD is good and his unfailing love lasts forever.” For I, the LORD, affirm that I will restore the land to what it was in days of old.’

But others jeered at the speakers, saying,“ They are drunk on new wine!”

Then you turned my lament into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and covered me with joy.

When David had settled into his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet,“ Look, I am living in a palace made from cedar, while the ark of the LORD’s covenant is under a tent.”
