As the ark of the covenant of the Lord was entering the City of David, Michal daughter of Saul watched from a window. And when she saw King David dancing and celebrating, she despised him in her heart.

The ark of the covenant of the Lord was brought into the City of David. Saul’s daughter Michal was watching from a window. She saw King David dancing and celebrating. That made her hate him in her heart.

And as the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David dancing and celebrating, and she despised him in her heart.

But as the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant entered the City of David, Michal, the daughter of Saul, looked down from her window. When she saw King David skipping about and laughing with joy, she was filled with contempt for him.

And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to- day, who uncovered himself to- day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself!And David said unto Michal, It was before Jehovah, who chose me above thy father, and above all his house, to appoint me prince over the people of Jehovah, over Israel: therefore will I play before Jehovah.And I will be yet more vile than this, and will be base in mine own sight: but of the handmaids of whom thou hast spoken, of them shall I be had in honor.And Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death.

And it was so, as the ark of Jehovah came into the city of David, that Michal the daughter of Saul looked out at the window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before Jehovah; and she despised him in her heart.

And it shall come to pass, when ye are multiplied and increased in the land, in those days, saith Jehovah, they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of Jehovah; neither shall it come to mind; neither shall they remember it; neither shall they miss it; neither shall it be made any more.

And Saul sent messengers unto David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal, David’s wife, told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to- night, to- morrow thou wilt be slain.So Michal let David down through the window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.And Michal took the teraphim, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair at the head thereof, and covered it with the clothes.And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.And Saul sent the messengers to see David, saying, Bring him up to me in the bed, that I may slay him.And when the messengers came in, behold, the teraphim was in the bed, with the pillow of goats’ hair at the head thereof.And Saul said unto Michal, Why hast thou deceived me thus, and let mine enemy go, so that he is escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said unto me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?

Now Saul had given Michal his daughter, David’s wife, to Palti the son of Laish, who was of Gallim.

And the children of Israel asked of Jehovah( for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,

And they set forward from the mount of Jehovah three days’ journey; and the ark of the covenant of Jehovah went before them three days’ journey, to seek out a resting- place for them.

And Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

And out of them shall proceed thanksgiving and the voice of them that make merry: and I will multiply them, and they shall not be few; I will also glorify them, and they shall not be small.

then ye shall say unto them, Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah; when it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

Now the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him; and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged.

and David arose and went, he and his men, and slew of the Philistines two hundred men; and David brought their foreskins, and they gave them in full number to the king, that he might be the king’s son- in- law. And Saul gave him Michal his daughter to wife.And Saul saw and knew that Jehovah was with David; and Michal, Saul’s daughter, loved him.

Praise him with timbrel and dance: Praise him with stringed instruments and pipe.

Take this book of the law, and put it by the side of the ark of the covenant of Jehovah your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.

a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; Shame hath covered my face.I am become a stranger unto my brethren, And an alien unto my mother’s children.For the zeal of thy house hath eaten me up; And the reproaches of them that reproach thee are fallen upon me.

And when the people were come into the camp, the elders of Israel said, Wherefore hath Jehovah smitten us to- day before the Philistines? Let us fetch the ark of the covenant of Jehovah out of Shiloh unto us, that it may come among us, and save us out of the hand of our enemies.

Let them praise his name in the dance: Let them sing praises unto him with timbrel and harp.

For whether we are beside ourselves, it is unto God; or whether we are of sober mind, it is unto you.

the voice of joy and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that say, Give thanks to Jehovah of hosts, for Jehovah is good, for his lovingkindness endureth for ever; and of them that bring sacrifices of thanksgiving into the house of Jehovah. For I will cause the captivity of the land to return as at the first, saith Jehovah.

But others mocking said, They are filled with new wine.

Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing; Thou hast loosed my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness;

And it came to pass, when David dwelt in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedar, but the ark of the covenant of Jehovah dwelleth under curtains.
