So David and the elders of Israel and the commanders of units of a thousand went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-Edom, with rejoicing.

或告大闢王曰、緣上帝之匱、耶和華錫嘏於阿別以東、暨凡所有。於是大闢往迎上帝之匱、於阿別以東家、歡然舁至大闢邑中。舁耶和華匱之人、行才六步、大闢獻牛與肥畜為祭。大闢衣枲公服、舞蹈於耶和華前、竭力以為。大闢及以色列族眾、歡呼吹角、舁耶和華之匱以至。耶和華之匱入大闢邑時、掃羅女米甲、自牖而窺、見大闢王、踴躍舞蹈於耶和華前、中心藐視之。人舁耶和華之匱、置於其所、在大闢所張之幕、大闢獻燔祭、及酬恩祭、奉事耶和華。其事既畢、則籲萬有之主耶和華名、為民祝嘏。以色列族眾男女各有匪頒、饅首一團、酒一罇、葡萄乾一方、然後民歸。大闢歸、為眷聚祝嘏、掃羅女米甲出迓、曰、今日以色列王、弛解其衣、若遊蕩之徒、既臣僕之婢、亦所目睹、安得為榮乎。大闢曰、我之為此、第欲尊崇耶和華耳。昔耶和華遺棄爾父、及其全家、簡我為民長、治理以色列族、故在耶和華前、我必踴躍。如因是事而藐視我、則我自待、必更卑微、然後爾所言之婢、將尊敬我。由是掃羅女米甲、不復誕育、至於畢生。

立為千夫長、五十夫長者有之、使耕田畝、穫其所產、作戰具、製車器者、亦有之。

千夫長、百夫長、及全軍之統轄、既戰而歸、摩西見之怒甚、

宜恆以主為悅、我復言在所當悅、

約沙法蒙耶和華祐而克敵、於是率猶大族、耶路撒冷民、凱歌還都、鳴琴、鼓瑟、吹角、至耶路撒冷、入耶和華殿、

所羅門集以色列長老族長、族中最著者、至耶路撒冷、欲舁耶和華法匱、自郇城入殿、郇城即昔所稱大闢之邑。

我儕心事上帝、以基督耶穌為悅、不恃儀文、是真受割禮者、

爾之上帝、救爾出諸患難艱苦者、爾遺棄之、求立一王、今日爾當至此、循爾支派億兆、立於耶和華前。

耶和華擊烏撒、大闢不悅、名其地曰比列烏撒、至今其名獨存。時大闢畏上帝曰、可使上帝之匱適我邑乎。故不敢舁至大闢邑、轉往他所、至迦特人阿伯以東家、上帝之匱、居彼三月、耶和華錫嘏於阿伯以東全家。

爾上帝耶和華特簡之室、為人籲名之所、爾與子女僕婢、及主爾家之利未人、暨賓旅孤寡、俱必欣喜懽忭、於爾上帝耶和華前。

我遂於支派諸長中、簡智慧之人、眾所識者、立為牧伯、千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長、治理爾曹、

惟爾伯利恆、以法大、在猶大郡中、雖為卑微、然將有君於爾是出、代我牧以色列民、亙古以來即有之、顯著者屢矣。

謂臣僕曰、便雅憫族宜聽我言、耶西之子、豈能以田畝葡萄園賜爾眾、以爾儕為千夫長、百夫長乎。

於爾上帝耶和華前食之、所為之事、既蒙錫嘏、故爾及眷聚、必欣喜歡忭。

耶和華兮、我之救主、爾曹偕我謳歌頌美之兮、我以揄揚之語、昌言於前、欣然咏詩、頌之靡已兮、

寰宇兆姓、靡不歡呼、頌美耶和華兮、在耶和華前、欣喜以供役、謳歌而頌讚兮、

以色列族、祭司、利未人、被虜而歸者、歡然欣喜、告成厥殿。

歷至七日必守節、奉爾上帝、耶和華、於其特簡之室、爾之物產、爾之造作、既蒙爾上帝耶和華錫嘏、則必欣喜懽忭。

惟於爾上帝耶和華所簡之處、爾與子女僕婢、及主爾家之利未人、咸必食之、無論所為之事、爾必欣喜歡忭於爾上帝耶和華前。
