So David and the elders of Israel and the commanders of units of a thousand went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from the house of Obed-Edom, with rejoicing.

有人告訴大衛王說：「耶和華因約櫃的緣故賜福給俄別‧以東的家和一切屬他的。」大衛就去，歡歡喜喜地將神的約櫃從俄別‧以東家中接上來，到大衛城裏。抬耶和華約櫃的人走了六步，大衛就獻牛與肥畜為祭。大衛穿着細麻布以弗得，在耶和華面前極力跳舞。這樣，大衛和以色列全家歡呼吹角，將耶和華的約櫃接了上來。耶和華的約櫃進大衛城的時候，掃羅的女兒米甲從窗戶裏往外觀看，見大衛王在耶和華面前踴躍跳舞，心裏就輕視他。眾人將耶和華的約櫃請進去，安放在所預備的地方，就是大衛為它搭的帳幕中。大衛在耶和華面前獻燔祭和平安祭。大衛獻完了燔祭和平安祭，就奉萬軍之耶和華的名祝福百姓，並且分給以色列眾人，所有的百姓，無論男女，每人一個餅，一個棗子餅，一個葡萄餅。眾人就各自回家去了。大衛回去要為家裏的人祝福，掃羅的女兒米甲出來迎接他，說：「以色列王今日有好大的榮耀啊！他今日在臣僕的使女眼前露體，如同一個無賴赤身露體一樣。」大衛對米甲說：「這是在耶和華面前的。耶和華已揀選我，在你父和你父的全家之上，立我作耶和華百姓以色列的君王，所以我在耶和華面前跳舞，我也必更加卑微，自己看為低賤。至於你所說的那些使女，她們反而尊重我。」掃羅的女兒米甲，直到死的那日沒有孩子。

他要為自己立千夫長、五十夫長；耕種他的田地，收割他的莊稼；打造他的兵器和車上的器械。

摩西向打仗回來的軍官，就是千夫長和百夫長發怒。

你們要靠主常常喜樂。我再說，你們要喜樂。

在約沙法率領下，猶大人和耶路撒冷人都歡歡喜喜地回耶路撒冷，耶和華使他們因戰勝仇敵而喜樂。他們彈琴、鼓瑟、吹號來到耶路撒冷，進了耶和華的殿。

那時，所羅門召集以色列的長老、各支派的領袖和以色列人的族長到耶路撒冷，所羅門王那裏，要把耶和華的約櫃從大衛城，就是錫安，接上來。

因為真受割禮的，就是我們這藉着神的靈敬拜、以基督耶穌為誇耀、不依靠肉體的。

你們今日卻厭棄救你們脫離一切災禍和患難的神，對他說：『求你立一個王治理我們。』現在你們應當按支派和宗族站在耶和華面前。」

大衛因耶和華突然衝出撞死烏撒就生氣，稱那地方為毗列斯‧烏撒，直到今日。那日，大衛懼怕神，說：「我怎能將神的約櫃接到我這裏來呢？」於是大衛不將約櫃接進大衛城他自己的地方，卻轉送到迦特人俄別‧以東的家中。神的約櫃停在俄別‧以東家中三個月，耶和華賜福給俄別‧以東的家和他一切所有的。

你和你的兒女、僕婢，以及住在你城裏的利未人、在你中間寄居的和孤兒寡婦，都要在那裏，耶和華－你神選擇作為他名居所的地方，在耶和華－你神面前歡樂。

我就將你們各支派的領袖，就是有智慧、為人所知的人，立他們為領袖，作你們各支派的千夫長、百夫長、五十夫長、十夫長等官長，來管理你們。

伯利恆的以法他啊，你在猶大諸城中雖小，將來必有一位從你那裏出來，在以色列中為我作掌權者；他的根源自亙古，從太初就有。

掃羅對左右侍立的臣僕說：「便雅憫人哪，聽着！耶西的兒子也能把田地和葡萄園賜給你們各人嗎？他能立你們各人作千夫長和百夫長嗎？

在那裏，你們和你們的全家都可以在耶和華－你們神的面前吃，並且因你們手所做的一切蒙耶和華－你的神賜福而歡樂。

來啊，我們要向耶和華歌唱，向拯救我們的磐石歡呼！我們要以感謝來到他面前，用詩歌向他歡呼！

普天下當向耶和華歡呼！當樂意事奉耶和華，當歡唱來到他面前！

以色列人、祭司和利未人，以及其餘被擄歸回的人都歡歡喜喜地為神的這殿行奉獻禮。

在耶和華所選擇的地方，你要向耶和華－你的神守節七日，因為耶和華－你的神要在你一切的收成上和你手裏所做的一切賜福給你，你就非常歡樂。

必須在耶和華－你的神面前吃，在耶和華－你神所選擇的地方，你和兒女、僕婢，以及住在你城裏的利未人都可以吃，並要因你手所做的一切，在耶和華－你神面前歡樂。
