Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath the LORD chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

那時大衛說：「除了利未人之外，無人可擡神的約櫃；因為耶和華揀選他們擡神的約櫃，且永遠事奉他。」

那時大衛說：『上帝的櫃、除了利未人之外、沒有人可以抬；因為永恆主所揀選來抬永恆主的櫃、並永遠伺候他的、乃是他們。』

大衛曰、耶和華既簡利未人舁上帝匱、永久奉事之、他人不可舁也、

大闢曰、耶和華簡利未人、舁上帝匱、供其役事、歷代勿替、自是舁匱、必以利未人。

其時大衛曰、利未人之外、無人可舁天主之匱、因主特選利未人、舁天主之匱、且奉事之、至於永遠、

Then David said,“ No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the Lord chose them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister before him forever.”

He said,“ Only Levites can carry the ark of God. That’s because the Lord chose them to carry his ark. He chose them to serve him forever in front of the place where his throne is.”

Then David said that no one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, for the Lord had chosen them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister to him forever.

Then he commanded,“ No one except the Levites may carry the Ark of God. The Lord has chosen them to carry the Ark of the Lord and to serve him forever.”

Then David said,“ No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the LORD has chosen them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister before him forever.”

Then David said,“ No one is to carry the ark of God except the Levites; for the Lord chose them to carry the ark of the Lord and to serve Him forever.”

Then David said,“ No one may carry the ark of God but the Levites, for the Lord has chosen them to carry the ark of God and to minister before Him forever.”

Then David said, None ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites: for them hath Jehovah chosen to carry the ark of God, and to minister unto him for ever.

Then David said,“ No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the Lord has chosen them to carry the ark of the Lord and to minister before Him forever.”

Then David said,“ Only the Levites may carry the ark of God, for the LORD chose them to carry the ark of the LORD and to serve before him perpetually.

Then David said,“ No one ought to carry God’s ark but the Levites. For Yahweh has chosen them to carry God’s ark, and to minister to him forever.”

At that time the LORD separated the tribe of Levi, to bear the ark of the covenant of the LORD, to stand before the LORD to minister unto him, and to bless in his name, unto this day.

For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;Neither shall the priests the Levites want a man before me to offer burnt offerings, and to kindle meat offerings, and to do sacrifice continually.And the word of the LORD came unto Jeremiah, saying,Thus saith the LORD; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;[ Then] may also my covenant be broken with David my servant, that he should not have a son to reign upon his throne; and with the Levites the priests, my ministers.As the host of heaven cannot be numbered, neither the sand of the sea measured: so will I multiply the seed of David my servant, and the Levites that minister unto me.

And the LORD said unto Aaron, Thou and thy sons and thy father’s house with thee shall bear the iniquity of the sanctuary: and thou and thy sons with thee shall bear the iniquity of your priesthood.And thy brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of thy father, bring thou with thee, that they may be joined unto thee, and minister unto thee: but thou and thy sons with thee[ shall minister] before the tabernacle of witness.And they shall keep thy charge, and the charge of all the tabernacle: only they shall not come nigh the vessels of the sanctuary and the altar, that neither they, nor ye also, die.And they shall be joined unto thee, and keep the charge of the tabernacle of the congregation, for all the service of the tabernacle: and a stranger shall not come nigh unto you.And ye shall keep the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the altar: that there be no wrath any more upon the children of Israel.And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the children of Israel: to you[ they are] given[ as] a gift for the LORD, to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation.Therefore thou and thy sons with thee shall keep your priest’s office for every thing of the altar, and within the vail; and ye shall serve: I have given your priest’s office[ unto you] as a service of gift: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.And the LORD spake unto Aaron, Behold, I also have given thee the charge of mine heave offerings of all the hallowed things of the children of Israel; unto thee have I given them by reason of the anointing, and to thy sons, by an ordinance for ever.

And Moses wrote this law, and delivered it unto the priests the sons of Levi, which bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and unto all the elders of Israel.

This[ is it] that[ belongeth] unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service[ thereof], and shall serve no more:But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

Take the sum of the sons of Kohath from among the sons of Levi, after their families, by the house of their fathers,From thirty years old and upward even until fifty years old, all that enter into the host, to do the work in the tabernacle of the congregation.This[ shall be] the service of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation,[ about] the most holy things:And when the camp setteth forward, Aaron shall come, and his sons, and they shall take down the covering vail, and cover the ark of testimony with it:And shall put thereon the covering of badgers’ skins, and shall spread over[ it] a cloth wholly of blue, and shall put in the staves thereof.And upon the table of shewbread they shall spread a cloth of blue, and put thereon the dishes, and the spoons, and the bowls, and covers to cover withal: and the continual bread shall be thereon:And they shall spread upon them a cloth of scarlet, and cover the same with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put in the staves thereof.And they shall take a cloth of blue, and cover the candlestick of the light, and his lamps, and his tongs, and his snuffdishes, and all the oil vessels thereof, wherewith they minister unto it:And they shall put it and all the vessels thereof within a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put[ it] upon a bar.And upon the golden altar they shall spread a cloth of blue, and cover it with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put to the staves thereof:And they shall take all the instruments of ministry, wherewith they minister in the sanctuary, and put[ them] in a cloth of blue, and cover them with a covering of badgers’ skins, and shall put[ them] on a bar:And they shall take away the ashes from the altar, and spread a purple cloth thereon:And they shall put upon it all the vessels thereof, wherewith they minister about it,[ even] the censers, the fleshhooks, and the shovels, and the basons, all the vessels of the altar; and they shall spread upon it a covering of badgers’ skins, and put to the staves of it.And when Aaron and his sons have made an end of covering the sanctuary, and all the vessels of the sanctuary, as the camp is to set forward; after that, the sons of Kohath shall come to bear[ it]: but they shall not touch[ any] holy thing, lest they die. These[ things are] the burden of the sons of Kohath in the tabernacle of the congregation.

And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.

And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them[ for] an offering unto the LORD.Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

But thus do unto them, that they may live, and not die, when they approach unto the most holy things: Aaron and his sons shall go in, and appoint them every one to his service and to his burden:But they shall not go in to see when the holy things are covered, lest they die.

But unto the sons of Kohath he gave none: because the service of the sanctuary belonging unto them[ was that] they should bear upon their shoulders.

And Joshua the son of Nun called the priests, and said unto them, Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark of the LORD.

And I will also take of them for priests[ and] for Levites, saith the LORD.

And said unto the Levites that taught all Israel, which were holy unto the LORD, Put the holy ark in the house which Solomon the son of David king of Israel did build;[ it shall] not[ be] a burden upon[ your] shoulders: serve now the LORD your God, and his people Israel,
