於是利未人使約珥子希幔、與族中比利家子亞薩、及同族米拉利子孫中古沙雅子以探、

So the Levites appointed Heman son of Joel; from his relatives, Asaph son of Berekiah; and from their relatives the Merarites, Ethan son of Kushaiah;

So the Levites appointed Heman, the son of Joel. From his relatives they chose Asaph, the son of Berekiah. Other relatives were from the family of Merari. From them they chose Ethan, the son of Kushaiah.

So the Levites appointed Heman the son of Joel; and of his brothers Asaph the son of Berechiah; and of the sons of Merari, their brothers, Ethan the son of Kushaiah;

So the Levites appointed Heman son of Joel along with his fellow Levites: Asaph son of Berekiah, and Ethan son of Kushaiah from the clan of Merari.

希幔和亞薩的兄弟米拉利的子孫，就是在他們左邊供職的有以探，以探是基示的兒子，基示是亞伯底的兒子，亞伯底是瑪鹿的兒子，

神啊！求你不要靜默；神啊！求你不要閉口，也不要一言不發。

歌唱的希幔、亞薩和以探敲打銅鈸，發出響亮的聲音；

他的長子名叫約珥，次子名叫亞比亞，都在別是巴作士師。

大衛和軍隊的領袖，也給亞薩、希幔和耶杜頓的子孫分派了任務，叫他們用琴瑟響鈸說預言。他們任職的人數如下：亞薩的兒子有撒刻、約瑟、尼探雅和亞薩利拉；亞薩的兒子都歸亞薩指揮，遵照王的旨意說預言。至於耶杜頓，他的兒子有基大利、西利、耶篩亞、示每、哈沙比雅和瑪他提雅，共六人，都歸他們的父親耶杜頓指揮。耶杜頓用琴說預言，稱謝和讚美耶和華。至於希幔，他的兒子有布基雅、瑪探雅、烏薛、細布業、耶利摩、哈拿尼雅、哈拿尼、以利亞他、基大利提、羅幔提．以謝、約施比加沙、瑪羅提、何提和瑪哈秀。這些人都是希幔的兒子；希幔是王的先見，照著神的話高舉他（“高舉他”原文作“高舉角”）。神賜給希幔十四個兒子，三個女兒。
