It was because you, the Levites, did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us. We did not inquire of him about how to do it in the prescribed way.”

Remember when the anger of the Lord our God broke out against us? That’s because it wasn’t you Levites who tried to carry up the ark the first time. We didn’t ask the Lord how to do it in the way the law requires.”

Because you did not carry it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not seek him according to the rule.”

Because you Levites did not carry the Ark the first time, the anger of the Lord our God burst out against us. We failed to ask God how to move it properly.”

Because you did not carry it at the first, the Lord our God made an outburst against us, since we did not seek Him according to the ordinance.”

For because you did not do it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not consult Him about the proper order.”

For because ye bare it not at the first, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not according to the ordinance.

The first time you did not carry it; that is why the LORD God attacked us, because we did not ask him about the proper way to carry it.”

They set the ark of God on a new cart and transported it from Abinadab’s house, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, sons of Abinadab, were guiding the cart

But everything is to be done decently and in order.

Now I praise you because you remember me in everything and hold fast to the traditions just as I delivered them to you.

Then the LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah, and God struck him dead on the spot for his irreverence, and he died there next to the ark of God.David was angry because of the LORD’s outburst against Uzzah, so he named that place Outburst Against Uzzah, as it is today.

But he did not give any to the Kohathites, since their responsibility was service related to the holy objects carried on their shoulders.

Then David said,“ No one but the Levites may carry the ark of God, because the LORD has chosen them to carry the ark of the LORD and to minister before him forever.”

Moses wrote down this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who carried the ark of the LORD’s covenant, and to all the elders of Israel.

The one who conceals his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and renounces them will find mercy.

At Abinadab’s house they set the ark of God on a new cart. Uzzah and Ahio were guiding the cart.David and all Israel were dancing with all their might before God with songs and with lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.When they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzzah reached out to hold the ark because the oxen had stumbled.Then the LORD’s anger burned against Uzzah, and he struck him dead because he had reached out to the ark. So he died there in the presence of God.David was angry because of the LORD’s outburst against Uzzah, so he named that place Outburst Against Uzzah, as it is still named today.

“ Aaron and his sons are to finish covering the holy objects and all their equipment whenever the camp is to move on. The Kohathites will come and carry them, but they are not to touch the holy objects or they will die. These are the transportation duties of the Kohathites regarding the tent of meeting.

for there were many in the assembly who had not consecrated themselves, and so the Levites were in charge of slaughtering the Passover lambs for every unclean person to consecrate the lambs to the LORD.A large number of the people— many from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun— were ritually unclean, yet they had eaten the Passover contrary to what was written. But Hezekiah had interceded for them, saying,“ May the good LORD provide atonement on behalf ofwhoever sets his whole heart on seeking God, the LORD, the God of his ancestors, even though not according to the purification rules of the sanctuary.”So the LORD heard Hezekiah and healed the people.
