爾曹初未舁之、亦未循例尋求上帝、故我上帝耶和華擊我儕、

爾初行此、不循常例、故上帝耶和華譴責我儕。

It was because you, the Levites, did not bring it up the first time that the Lord our God broke out in anger against us. We did not inquire of him about how to do it in the prescribed way.”

Remember when the anger of the Lord our God broke out against us? That’s because it wasn’t you Levites who tried to carry up the ark the first time. We didn’t ask the Lord how to do it in the way the law requires.”

Because you did not carry it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not seek him according to the rule.”

Because you Levites did not carry the Ark the first time, the anger of the Lord our God burst out against us. We failed to ask God how to move it properly.”

For the LORD our God burst out in anger against us because you Levites were not with us the first time, for we didn’t inquire of him about the proper procedures.”

Because you did not carry it at the first, the Lord our God made an outburst against us, since we did not seek Him according to the ordinance.”

For because you did not do it the first time, the Lord our God broke out against us, because we did not consult Him about the proper order.”

For because ye bare it not at the first, Jehovah our God made a breach upon us, for that we sought him not according to the ordinance.

For the Lord our God burst out in anger against us because you Levites were not with us the first time, for we didn’t inquire of Him about the proper procedures.”

The first time you did not carry it; that is why the LORD God attacked us, because we did not ask him about the proper way to carry it.”

For because you didn’t carry it at first, Yahweh our God broke out in anger against us, because we didn’t seek him according to the ordinance.”

他们把神的约柜从山冈上亚比拿达的家里抬出来，安放在一辆新车上；亚比拿达的两个儿子，乌撒和亚希约赶着这辆新车，

凡事都要规规矩矩地按着次序行。

我称赞你们，因为你们在一切事上都记念我，又持守我传交给你们的教训。

耶和华的怒气向乌撒发作；神因这错误的举动，就当场击杀他，他就死在神的约柜旁边。大卫因为耶和华击杀了乌撒，就很生气，因此称那地方为毗列斯‧乌撒，直到今日。

但是没有分给哥辖的子孙，因为他们所办的事是圣所的事，是要用肩头抬的。

那时大卫说：“神的约柜，除了利未人以外，没有人可以抬，因为耶和华拣选了他们抬神的约柜，并且永远事奉他。”

摩西把这律法写好了，就交给抬耶和华约柜的利未支派的祭司子孙，和以色列的众长老。

遮掩自己过犯的，必不亨通；承认并离弃过犯的，必蒙怜悯。

他们把神的约柜，从亚比拿达家里抬出来，放在一辆新车上，乌撒和亚希约负责赶车。大卫和以色列众人在神面前，用诗歌，以及弹琴鼓瑟、敲手鼓、响钹和吹号，尽情欢庆。他们到了基顿禾场的时候，因为牛失蹄绊倒，乌撒就伸手扶住约柜。于是耶和华向乌撒发怒，因为乌撒伸手把约柜扶住，所以神把他击杀，他就在那里死在神面前。大卫因耶和华忽然杀死乌撒，非常不悦，就称那地方为毗列斯．乌撒，直到今日。

全营出发的时候，亚伦和他的儿子，把圣所和圣所的一切器具遮盖完了以后，哥辖的子孙就要来抬；只是他们不可触摸圣物，免得他们死亡。会幕里这些物件是哥辖的子孙应当抬的。

因为会众中有很多人还没有自洁，所以利未人必须为所有不洁的人宰杀逾越节的羊羔，使他们在耶和华面前成为圣洁。原来有一大群人，很多是从以法莲、玛拿西、以萨迦和西布伦来的，还没有自洁，就吃逾越节的羊羔，不遵照所记的定例；因此，希西家为他们祷告说：“凡是立定心意，专一寻求神耶和华他们列祖的神的，虽然没有照着圣所洁净的礼自洁，愿良善的耶和华也饶恕他们。”
