As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move out to battle, because that will mean God has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.”

Listen for the sound of marching in the tops of the trees. Then move out to fight. The sound will mean that I have gone out in front of you. I will strike down the Philistine army.”

And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then go out to battle, for God has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.”

When you hear a sound like marching feet in the tops of the poplar trees, go out and attack! That will be the signal that God is moving ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army.”

The noise of a multitude in the mountains, like as of a great people; a tumultuous noise of the kingdoms of nations gathered together: the LORD of hosts mustereth the host of the battle.

And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armourbearer[ were] not[ there].And Saul said unto Ahiah, Bring hither the ark of God. For the ark of God was at that time with the children of Israel.And it came to pass, while Saul talked unto the priest, that the noise that[ was] in the host of the Philistines went on and increased: and Saul said unto the priest, Withdraw thine hand.And Saul and all the people that[ were] with him assembled themselves, and they came to the battle: and, behold, every man’s sword was against his fellow,[ and there was] a very great discomfiture.Moreover the Hebrews[ that] were with the Philistines before that time, which went up with them into the camp[ from the country] round about, even they also[ turned] to be with the Israelites that[ were] with Saul and Jonathan.Likewise all the men of Israel which had hid themselves in mount Ephraim,[ when] they heard that the Philistines fled, even they also followed hard after them in the battle.

And upon them that are left[ alive] of you I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies; and the sound of a shaken leaf shall chase them; and they shall flee, as fleeing from a sword; and they shall fall when none pursueth.

And it was[ so], when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and the interpretation thereof, that he worshipped, and returned into the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.

For the Lord had made the host of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses,[ even] the noise of a great host: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.
