Then David and all Israel went to Baalah of Judah( also called Kiriath jearim) to bring back the Ark of God, which bears the name of the Lord who is enthroned between the cherubim.

David and all Israel went to Baalah of Judah( Kiriath Jearim) to bring up from there the ark of God the Lord, who is enthroned between the cherubim— the ark that is called by the Name.

David went to Baalah of Judah. The whole community of Israel went with him. Baalah is also called Kiriath Jearim. All the people went there to get the ark of God the Lord. He sits on his throne between the cherubim. The ark is named after the Lord.

And David and all Israel went up to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath-jearim that belongs to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God, which is called by the name of the Lord who sits enthroned above the cherubim.

From there the boundary extended from the top of the mountain to the spring at the waters of Nephtoah, and from there to the towns on Mount Ephron. Then it turned toward Baalah( that is, Kiriath jearim).

And Hezekiah prayed this prayer before the Lord:“ O Lord, God of Israel, you are enthroned between the mighty cherubim! You alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You alone created the heavens and the earth.

I will meet with you there and talk to you from above the atonement cover between the gold cherubim that hover over the Ark of the Covenant. From there I will give you my commands for the people of Israel.

So they sent men to Shiloh to bring the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, who is enthroned between the cherubim. Hophni and Phinehas, the sons of Eli, were also there with the Ark of the Covenant of God.

There were also Kiriath baal( that is, Kiriath jearim) and Rabbah— two towns with their surrounding villages.

Pay close attention to him, and obey his instructions. Do not rebel against him, for he is my representative, and he will not forgive your rebellion.

Whenever Moses went into the Tabernacle to speak with the Lord, he heard the voice speaking to him from between the two cherubim above the Ark’s cover— the place of atonement— that rests on the Ark of the Covenant. The Lord spoke to him from there.

Please listen, O Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph’s descendants like a flock. O God, enthroned above the cherubim, display your radiant glory

“ Build for me an altar made of earth, and offer your sacrifices to me— your burnt offerings and peace offerings, your sheep and goats, and your cattle. Build my altar wherever I cause my name to be remembered, and I will come to you and bless you.

Uzzah and Ahio, Abinadab’s sons, were guiding the cartthat carried the Ark of God. Ahio walked in front of the Ark.David and all the people of Israel were celebrating before the Lord, singing songs and playing all kinds of musical instruments— lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.But when they arrived at the threshing floor of Nacon, the oxen stumbled, and Uzzah reached out his hand and steadied the Ark of God.Then the Lord’s anger was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him dead because of this. So Uzzah died right there beside the Ark of God.David was angry because the Lord’s anger had burst out against Uzzah. He named that place Perez uzzah( which means“ to burst out against Uzzah”), as it is still called today.David was now afraid of the Lord, and he asked,“ How can I ever bring the Ark of the Lord back into my care?”So David decided not to move the Ark of the Lord into the City of David. Instead, he took it to the house of Obed edom of Gath.The Ark of the Lord remained there in Obed edom’s house for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed edom and his entire household.

“ O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, God of Israel, you are enthroned between the mighty cherubim! You alone are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You alone created the heavens and the earth.

Whenever Aaron and his sons bless the people of Israel in my name, I myself will bless them.”

‘ From the day I brought my people Israel out of Egypt, I have never chosen a city among any of the tribes of Israel as the place where a Temple should be built to honor my name. But I have chosen David to be king over my people Israel.’”

The Lord is king! Let the nations tremble! He sits on his throne between the cherubim. Let the whole earth quake!
