皆係武士、能守行伍、忠乃心、至希伯崙、欲立大闢為王、治以色列族、斯土餘民、亦同此心、

All these were fighting men who volunteered to serve in the ranks. They came to Hebron fully determined to make David king over all Israel. All the rest of the Israelites were also of one mind to make David king.

大衛出去迎接他們，對他們說：「你們若是和和平平地來幫助我，我心就與你們相契；你們若是將我這無罪的人賣在敵人手裏，願我們列祖的神察看責罰。」那時神的靈感動那三十個勇士的首領亞瑪撒，他就說：大衛啊，我們是歸於你的！耶西的兒子啊，我們是幫助你的！願你平平安安，願幫助你的也都平安！因為你的神幫助你。大衛就收留他們，立他們作軍長。

當你掌權的日子，你的民要以聖潔的妝飾為衣，甘心犧牲自己；你的民多如清晨的甘露。

西布倫支派，能上陣用各樣兵器打仗、行伍整齊、不生二心的有五萬人。

以色列眾支派來到希伯崙見大衛，說：「我們原是你的骨肉。從前掃羅作我們王的時候，率領以色列人出入的是你；耶和華也曾應許你說：『你必牧養我的民以色列，作以色列的君。』」於是以色列的長老都來到希伯崙見大衛王，大衛在希伯崙耶和華面前與他們立約，他們就膏大衛作以色列的王。

猶大啊，你弟兄們必讚美你；你手必掐住仇敵的頸項；你父親的兒子們必向你下拜。猶大是個小獅子；我兒啊，你抓了食便上去。你屈下身去，臥如公獅，蹲如母獅，誰敢惹你？圭必不離猶大，杖必不離他兩腳之間，直等細羅來到，萬民都必歸順。

「耶和華啊，求你記念我在你面前怎樣存完全的心，按誠實行事，又做你眼中所看為善的。」希西家就痛哭了。

我要使他們有合一的心，也要將新靈放在他們裏面，又從他們肉體中除掉石心，賜給他們肉心，

所羅門年老的時候，他的妃嬪誘惑他的心去隨從別神，不效法他父親大衛誠誠實實地順服耶和華－他的神。

神也感動猶大人，使他們一心遵行王與眾首領憑耶和華之言所發的命令。
