And David went out to meet them, and answered and said to them,“ If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if to betray me to my enemies, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look and bring judgment.”

大衛出迓曰、爾若平和而來以助我、則我心與爾相契、我既無辜、爾若鬻我於敵、願我列祖之上帝鑒察之、譴責之、

大闢出迓、告曰、如爾心懷平康、欲來助我、則我與爾和好。如欲欺我、付無辜於敵手、則望列祖之上帝、加以督責。

大衛出迎、謂之曰、爾來意若平善、欲助我、則我願與爾結盟、如欲欺我、將我無辜者付於敵手、願我列祖之天主、鑒察加責、

David went out to meet them and said to them,“ If you have come to me in peace to help me, I am ready for you to join me. But if you have come to betray me to my enemies when my hands are free from violence, may the God of our ancestors see it and judge you.”

David went out to meet them. He said to them,“ Have you come to me in peace? Have you come to help me? If you have, I’m ready for you to join me. But suppose you have come to hand me over to my enemies when I haven’t even harmed anyone. Then may the God of our people see it and judge you.”

David went out to meet them and said to them,“ If you have come to me in friendship to help me, my heart will be joined to you; but if to betray me to my adversaries, although there is no wrong in my hands, then may the God of our fathers see and rebuke you.”

David went out to meet them and said,“ If you have come in peace to help me, we are friends. But if you have come to betray me to my enemies when I am innocent, then may the God of our ancestors see it and punish you.”

David went out to meet them and said to them,“ If you have come in peace to help me, my heart will be united with you, but if you have come to betray me to my enemies even though my hands have done no wrong, may the God of our ancestors look on it and judge.”

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, my heart shall be knit unto you; but if ye be come to betray me to mine adversaries, seeing there is no wrong in my hands, the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it.

David went out to meet them and said to them,“ If you have come in peace to help me, my heart will be united with you, but if you have come to betray me to my enemies even though my hands have done no wrong, may the God of our ancestors look on it and judge.”

And David went out to meet them, and answered and said unto them, If ye be come peaceably unto me to help me, mine heart shall be knit unto you: but if[ ye be come] to betray me to mine enemies, seeing[ there is] no wrong in mine hands, the God of our fathers look[ thereon], and rebuke[ it].

David went out to meet them and said,“ If you come to me in peace and want to help me, then I will make an alliance with you. But if you come to betray me to my enemies when I have not harmed you, may the God of our ancestors take notice and judge!”

David went out to meet them, and answered them,“ If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers see this and rebuke it.”

Arise, O Lord, in Your anger; Lift Yourself up because of the rage of my enemies; Rise up for me to the judgment You have commanded!

So Abner and twenty men with him came to David at Hebron. And David made a feast for Abner and the men who were with him.Then Abner said to David,“ I will arise and go, and gather all Israel to my Lord the king, that they may make a covenant with you, and that you may reign over all that your heart desires.” So David sent Abner away, and he went in peace.At that moment the servants of David and Joab came from a raid and brought much spoil with them. But Abner was not with David in Hebron, for he had sent him away, and he had gone in peace.When Joab and all the troops that were with him had come, they told Joab, saying,“ Abner the son of Ner came to the king, and he sent him away, and he has gone in peace.”Then Joab came to the king and said,“ What have you done? Look, Abner came to you; why is it that you sent him away, and he has already gone?Surely you realize that Abner the son of Ner came to deceive you, to know your going out and your coming in, and to know all that you are doing.”

Now when he departed from there, he met Jehonadab the son of Rechab, coming to meet him; and he greeted him and said to him,“ Is your heart right, as my heart is toward your heart?” And Jehonadab answered,“ It is.” Jehu said,“ If it is, give me your hand.” So he gave him his hand, and he took him up to him into the chariot.

May the Lord repay every man for his righteousness and his faithfulness; for the Lord delivered you into my hand today, but I would not stretch out my hand against the LORD’s anointed.And indeed, as your life was valued much this day in my eyes, so let my life be valued much in the eyes of the Lord, and let Him deliver me out of all tribulation.”

Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel,

then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them.

So Samuel did what the Lord said, and went to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said,“ Do you come peaceably?”

Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said,“ The Lord rebuke you!”

Help, Lord, for the godly man ceases! For the faithful disappear from among the sons of men.They speak idly everyone with his neighbor; With flattering lips and a double heart they speak.

Now Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon. So she said,“ Do you come peaceably?” And he said,“ Peaceably.”

Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul.

Now when he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul.

who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

And the Lord said to Satan,“ The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”

Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
