从前，即使扫罗做王的时候，率领以色列人出征打仗的仍是你。你的上帝耶和华也曾应许让你做祂以色列子民的牧者和首领。”

从前扫罗作王的时候，是你率领以色列人出入征战；耶和华你的神曾对你说过：‘你要牧养我的人民以色列，你要作我的人民以色列的领袖。’”

從前，即使掃羅做王的時候，率領以色列人出征打仗的仍是你。你的上帝耶和華也曾應許讓你做祂以色列子民的牧者和首領。」

從前掃羅作王的時候，是你率領以色列人出入征戰；耶和華你的神曾對你說過：‘你要牧養我的人民以色列，你要作我的人民以色列的領袖。’”

從前掃羅做王的時候、率領以色列人出入的是你。永恆主你的上帝也曾對你說過：「是你要牧養我的民以色列；是你要做人君來管理以色列。」』

昔掃羅為王時、爾率以色列人出入、爾上帝耶和華謂爾曰、爾必為我民之牧、我民以色列之君、

昔掃羅為王、治理我儕、爾導以色列族出入、爾之上帝耶和華云、爾必牧以色列族、為我民之長。

In the past, even while Saul was king, you were the one who led Israel on their military campaigns. And the Lord your God said to you,‘ You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will become their ruler.’”

In the past, Saul was our king. But you led the men of Israel in battle. The Lord your God said to you,‘ You will be the shepherd over my people Israel. You will become their ruler.’ ”

In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. And the Lord your God said to you,‘ You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.’”

In the past, even when Saul was king, you were the one who really led the forces of Israel. And the Lord your God told you,‘ You will be the shepherd of my people Israel. You will be the leader of my people Israel.’”

Even previously when Saul was king, you were leading Israel out to battle and bringing us back. The LORD your God also said to you,‘ You will shepherd my people Israel, and you will be ruler over my people Israel.’”

In times past, even when Saul was king, you were the one who led out and brought in Israel; and the Lord your God said to you,‘ You shall shepherd My people Israel, and you shall be leader over My people Israel.’ ”

In the past, even when Saul was king, you were Israel’s commanding general. The LORD your God said to you,‘ You will shepherd my people Israel; you will rule over my people Israel.’”

In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. Yahweh your God said to you,‘ You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.’”

從前掃羅作我們王的時候，率領以色列人出入的是你；耶和華也曾應許你說：『你必牧養我的民以色列，作以色列的君。』」

猶大地的伯利恆啊，你在猶大諸城中並不是最小的；因為將來有一位君王要從你那裏出來，牧養我以色列民。」

凡我同以色列人所走的地方，我何曾向以色列一支派的士師，就是我吩咐牧養我民以色列的說：你們為何不給我建造香柏木的殿宇呢？』

叫他不再跟從那些帶奶的母羊，為要牧養自己的百姓雅各和自己的產業以色列。

所以求你賜我智慧，可以判斷你的民，能辨別是非。不然，誰能判斷這眾多的民呢？」

耶和華對撒母耳說：「我既厭棄掃羅作以色列的王，你為他悲傷要到幾時呢？你將膏油盛滿了角，我差遣你往伯利恆人耶西那裏去；因為我在他眾子之內，預定一個作王的。」

伯利恆的以法他啊，你在猶大諸城中為小，將來必有一位從你那裏出來，在以色列中為我作掌權的；他的根源從亙古，從太初就有。

他必起來，倚靠耶和華的大能，並耶和華－他神之名的威嚴，牧養他的羊羣。他們要安然居住；因為他必日見尊大，直到地極。

既放出自己的羊來，就在前頭走，羊也跟着他，因為認得他的聲音。

你回去告訴耶羅波安說：『耶和華－以色列的神如此說：我從民中將你高舉，立你作我民以色列的君，

他必像牧人牧養自己的羊羣，用膀臂聚集羊羔抱在懷中，慢慢引導那乳養小羊的。

所以掃羅使大衛離開自己，立他為千夫長，他就領兵出入。

我也必將合我心的牧者賜給你們。他們必以知識和智慧牧養你們。」

我已立他作萬民的見證，為萬民的君王和司令。

撒母耳就用角裏的膏油，在他諸兄中膏了他。從這日起，耶和華的靈就大大感動大衛。撒母耳起身回拉瑪去了。

可以在他們面前出入，也可以引導他們，免得耶和華的會眾如同沒有牧人的羊羣一般。」
