And David said longingly,“ Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem that is by the gate!”

大衛歆羨曰、深願有人由伯利恆門側之井、汲水以飲我、

大闢不勝欣羨、曰、伯利恆邑門之側、有井焉、甚欲汲其水以飲。

大衛曰、伯利恆城門側之井、我慕其水、誰願往汲、予我飲之、

David longed for water and said,“ Oh, that someone would get me a drink of water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem!”

David really wanted some water. He said,“ I wish someone would get me a drink of water from the well near the gate of Bethlehem!”

David remarked longingly to his men,“ Oh, how I would love some of that good water from the well by the gate in Bethlehem.”

David was extremely thirsty and said,“ If only someone would bring me water to drink from the well at the city gate of Bethlehem!”

And David had a craving and said,“ Oh that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”

And David said with longing,“ Oh, that someone would give me a drink of water from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Beth- lehem, which is by the gate!

David was extremely thirsty and said,“ If only someone would bring me water to drink from the well at the city gate of Bethlehem!”

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that[ is] at the gate!

David was thirsty and said,“ How I wish someone would give me some water to drink from the cistern in Bethlehem near the city gate!”

David longed, and said,“ Oh that one would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”

And David said longingly,“ Oh, that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem that is by the gate!”Then the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate and carried and brought it to David. But he would not drink of it. He poured it out to the Lord

Jesus answered her,“ If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that is saying to you,‘ Give me a drink,’ you would have asked him, and he would have given you living water.”

As a deer pants for flowing streams, so pants my soul for you, O God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

I stretch out my hands to you; my soul thirsts for you like a parched land. Selah

but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

Now the rabble that was among them had a strong craving. And the people of Israel also wept again and said,“ Oh that we had meat to eat!We remember the fish we ate in Egypt that cost nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic.

With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.

O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
