Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,

Canaan was the father of Sidon. Sidon was his oldest son. Canaan was also the father of the Hittites,

Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn and Heth,

Canaan’s oldest son was Sidon, the ancestor of the Sidonians. Canaan was also the ancestor of the Hittites,

Canaan fathered Sidon as his firstborn and Heth,

Canaan fathered Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,

Canaan begot Sidon, his firstborn, and Heth;

And Canaan begat Sidon his first- born, and Heth,

So David sent a message to Joab that said,“ Send me Uriah the Hittite.” So Joab sent Uriah to David.

The sons of Heth answered Abraham,

When the news reached all the kings on the west side of the Jordan– in the hill country, the lowlands, and all along the Mediterranean coast as far as Lebanon( including the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites)–

It is the cave in the field of Machpelah, near Mamre in the land of Canaan, which Abraham bought for a burial plot from Ephron the Hittite.There they buried Abraham and his wife Sarah; there they buried Isaac and his wife Rebekah; and there I buried Leah.The field and the cave in it were acquired from the sons of Heth.”

Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, Heth,the Jebusites, Amorites, Girgashites,Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,Arvadites, Zemarites, and Hamathites. Eventually the families of the Canaanites were scatteredand the borders of Canaan extended from Sidon all the way to Gerar as far as Gaza, and all the way to Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

So Abraham secured the field and the cave that was in it as a burial site from the sons of Heth.

Then Abraham got up from mourning his dead wife and said to the sons of Heth,

Then Rebekah said to Isaac,“ I am deeply depressed because of these daughters of Heth. If Jacob were to marry one of these daughters of Heth who live in this land, I would want to die!”

I will send hornets before you that will drive out the Hivite, the Canaanite, and the Hittite before you.

Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers who were outside.
