Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord

A Psalm.

1Oh sing to the Lord98:1 See Ps. 33:3a new song,

for he has done 98:1 [Ps. 96:3]; Ps. 72:18marvelous things!

His 98:1 [Ex. 15:6; Luke 1:51]; See Job 40:14right hand and his holy arm

have worked salvation for him.

2The Lord has 98:2 Isa. 49:6; 52:10; Luke 2:30, 31; [Isa. 59:16; 63:5] made known his salvation;

he has 98:2 Isa. 62:2; Rom. 3:25, 26revealed his righteousness in 98:2 Ps. 96:2, 3the sight of the nations.

3He has 98:3 Luke 1:54, 72remembered his 98:3 See Ps. 36:5steadfast love and faithfulness

to the house of Israel.

All 98:3 Ps. 22:27the ends of the earth have seen

98:3 ver. 2the salvation of our God.

498:4 See Ps. 66:1Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;

98:4 Isa. 44:23break forth into joyous song and sing praises!

5Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,

with the lyre and the 98:5 Isa. 51:3sound of melody!

6With 98:6 Num. 10:10; 1 Chr. 15:24trumpets and the sound of 98:6 2 Chr. 15:14the horn

98:6 [See ver. 4above]make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord!

8Let the rivers 98:8 Isa. 55:12; [Ps. 93:3] clap their hands;

let 98:8 Ps. 89:12the hills sing for joy together

9before the Lord, for he comes

to 98:9 Ps. 96:13; See Ps. 58:11judge the earth.

He will judge the world with righteousness,

and the peoples with equity.
