in 48:1 See Ps. 46:4the city of our God!

His 48:1 Ps. 2:6; 87:1; Zech. 8:3; [Isa. 2:3; Mic. 4:1]holy mountain,

248:2 See Ps. 50:2beautiful in elevation,

is 48:2 Lam. 2:15; [Ezek. 20:6] the joy of all the earth,

Mount Zion, in the far north,

48:2 Matt. 5:35the city of the great King.

3Within her citadels God

has made himself known as a fortress.

4For behold, 48:4 See 2 Sam. 10:6-19the kings assembled;

they came on together.

5As soon as they saw it, they were astounded;

they were in panic; they took to flight.

648:6 [Ex. 15:15] Trembling took hold of them there,

anguish 48:6 Isa. 13:8; Hos. 13:13as of a woman in labor.

8As we have heard, so have we seen

in the city of the Lord of hosts,

in 48:8 [See ver. 1above] the city of our God,

which God will 48:8 Ps. 87:5; Isa. 2:2; Mic. 4:1establish forever. Selah

9We have thought on your 48:9 Ps. 26:3; 40:10steadfast love, O God,

in the midst of your temple.

10As your 48:10 Ps. 113:3; [Ex. 34:5, 6; Deut. 28:58; Mal. 1:11, 14] name, O God,

so your praise reaches to 48:10 See Ps. 22:27the ends of the earth.

Your right hand is filled with righteousness.

11Let Mount 48:11 Ps. 97:8Zion be glad!

Let 48:11 Ps. 97:8the daughters of Judah rejoice

because of your judgments!

12Walk about Zion, go around her,

number her towers,

13consider well her 48:13 Ps. 122:7ramparts,

go through her citadels,

48:13 [Ps. 78:4-6]that you may tell the next generation

14that this is God,

our God forever and ever.
