Joy Comes with the Morning
A Psalm of David. A song at the dedication of 30:0 2 Sam. 5:11; 1 Chr. 22:1the temple.

1I will 30:1 Ps. 107:32extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up
and have not let my foes 30:1 Ps. 25:2; 35:19, 24; [Ps. 13:4]rejoice over me.
2O Lord my God, I 30:2 Ps. 88:13cried to you for help,
and you have 30:2 See Ps. 6:2healed me.
3O Lord, you have brought up my soul from 30:3 See Ps. 16:10Sheol;
you restored me to life from among those who 30:3 Ps. 28:1go down to the pit.30:3 Or to life, that I should not go down to the pit

4Sing praises to the Lord, O you 30:4 Ps. 50:5his saints,
and 30:4 Ps. 97:12; [1 Chr. 16:4]give thanks to his holy name.30:4 Hebrew to the memorial of his holiness (see Exodus 3:15)
530:5 [Ps. 103:9; Job 33:26; Isa. 26:20; 54:7, 8] For his anger is but for a moment,
and 30:5 Ps. 63:3his favor is for a lifetime.30:5 Or and in his favor is life
30:5 [2 Cor. 4:17, 18] Weeping may tarry for the night,
but 30:5 Ps. 126:5 (Heb.)joy comes with the morning.

6As for me, I said in my 30:6 [Job 29:18; Prov. 1:32] prosperity,
“I shall never be 30:6 Ps. 10:6moved.”
7By your favor, O Lord,
you made my 30:7 [2 Sam. 5:9] mountain stand strong;
you 30:7 Ps. 104:29; [Deut. 31:17] hid your face;
I was 30:7 [2 Sam. 24:10]dismayed.

8To you, O Lord, I cry,
and 30:8 Ps. 142:1to the Lord I plead for mercy:
9“What profit is there in my death,30:9 Hebrew in my blood
if I go down to the pit?30:9 Or to corruption
Will 30:9 See Ps. 6:5the dust praise you?
Will it tell of your faithfulness?
1030:10 Ps. 27:7Hear, O Lord, and be merciful to me!
O Lord, be my helper!”

11You have turned for me my mourning into 30:11 Ex. 15:20; 2 Sam. 6:14; Jer. 31:4, 13; [Ps. 149:3; 150:4; Lam. 5:15]dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
12that my 30:12 See Ps. 16:9glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever!
