Teach Me Your Paths

25:1 This psalm is an acrostic poem, each verse beginning with the successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet Of David.

1To you, O Lord, I 25:1 Ps. 86:4; 143:8; Lam. 3:41; [Ps. 24:4]lift up my soul.

2O my God, in you I 25:2 See Ps. 11:1trust;

25:2 ver. 20; Ps. 31:1, 17; 71:1let me not be put to shame;

25:2 [Ps. 13:4]let not my enemies exult over me.

3Indeed, 25:3 Isa. 49:23; [Rom. 5:5; Phil. 1:20] none who wait for you shall be put to shame;

they shall be ashamed who are 25:3 [Ps. 59:3, 4] wantonly 25:3 [Jer. 3:20]treacherous.

425:4 Ps. 27:11; 86:11; 143:8, 10; Ex. 33:13; [Ps. 5:8; 119:35]Make me to know your ways, O Lord;

teach me your paths.

5Lead me in your 25:5 Ps. 26:3; 86:11truth and teach me,

for you are the God of my salvation;

for you I wait all the day long.

6Remember your 25:6 Ps. 51:1; [Ps. 103:17; Isa. 63:15] mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love,

25:6 [Gen. 8:1; 9:15; 19:29]for they have been from of old.

7Remember not 25:7 Job 13:26; 20:11; Jer. 3:25the sins of my youth or my transgressions;

according to your 25:7 Ps. 51:1steadfast love remember me,

for the sake of your goodness, O Lord!

825:8 Ps. 100:5Good and upright is the Lord;

therefore he 25:8 Ps. 32:8instructs sinners in the way.

9He leads the humble in what is right,

and teaches the humble his way.

10All the paths of the Lord are 25:10 [John 1:17]steadfast love and faithfulness,

for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

11For your 25:11 See Ps. 23:3name’s sake, O Lord,

pardon my guilt, for it is 25:11 [Rom. 5:20]great.

12Who is the man who fears the Lord?

Him 25:12 [See ver. 8above]will he instruct in the way that he should choose.

13His soul shall 25:13 [Prov. 1:33; 19:23] abide in well-being,

and his 25:13 Ps. 112:2offspring 25:13 See Ps. 37:9shall inherit the land.

and he makes known to them his covenant.

15My 25:15 Ps. 123:1, 2; 141:8; [2 Chr. 20:12] eyes are ever toward the Lord,

for he will 25:15 Ps. 31:4pluck my feet out of the net.

1625:16 Ps. 69:16; 86:16; 119:132Turn to me and be gracious to me,

for I am lonely and afflicted.

17The troubles of my heart are enlarged;

bring me out of my distresses.

1825:18 [Job 10:15]Consider my affliction and my trouble,

and forgive all my sins.

19Consider how many are my foes,

and with what violent hatred they hate me.

20Oh, guard my soul, and deliver me!

25:20 See ver. 2Let me not be put to shame, for I take refuge in you.

21May integrity and uprightness preserve me,

for I wait for you.
