Restoration for Israel and Judah
1The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord:
2“Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel: 30:2 ch. 36:2; Hab. 2:2Write in a book all the words that I have spoken to you.
330:3 Hab. 2:3For behold, days are coming, declares the Lord, 30:3 ver. 18; ch. 29:14; 31:23; 32:44; 33:7, 11, 26; Job 42:10; Lam. 2:14when I will restore 30:3 Ezra 2:1the fortunes of my people, 30:3 Isa. 11:12, 13; Hos. 1:11Israel and Judah, says the Lord, 30:3 ch. 12:15; Ezek. 20:42; See ch. 16:15; 23:3and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall take possession of it.”
4These are the words that the Lord spoke concerning 30:4 [See ver. 3above]Israel and Judah:

5“Thus says the Lord:
We have heard a cry of panic,
of terror, and no peace.
6Ask now, and see,
can a man bear a child?
30:6 See Isa. 13:8Why then do I see every man
with his hands on his stomach 30:6 See Isa. 13:8like a woman in labor?
30:6 Nah. 2:10; [Joel 2:6]Why has every face turned pale?
7Alas! 30:7 Joel 2:11; Zeph. 1:14That day is so great
30:7 Dan. 12:1there is none like it;
it is a time of distress for Jacob;
yet he shall be saved out of it.

8“And it shall come to pass in that day, declares the Lord of hosts, that I will 30:8 ch. 2:20; Nah. 1:13break his 30:8 See ch. 27:2yoke from off your neck, and I will 30:8 ch. 2:20; Nah. 1:13burst your bonds, 30:8 Ezek. 34:27and foreigners shall no more make a servant of him.30:8 Or serve him
9But they shall serve the Lord their God and 30:9 Isa. 55:3, 4; Ezek. 34:23; 37:24; Hos. 3:5; [Luke 1:69, 70; Acts 13:22, 23]; See ch. 23:5David their king, whom I will raise up for them.

1030:10 ch. 42:11; 46:27, 28; See Isa. 43:5“Then fear not, 30:10 Isa. 41:8O Jacob my servant, declares the Lord,
nor be dismayed, O Israel;
for behold, 30:10 ch. 42:11; 46:27, 28; See Isa. 43:5I will save you from far away,
30:10 See ch. 3:18and your offspring from the land of their captivity.
30:10 ch. 42:11; 46:27, 28; See Isa. 43:5Jacob shall return and have quiet and ease,
and none shall make him afraid.
1130:11 ch. 46:28For I am with you to save you,
declares the Lord;
30:11 ch. 46:28I will make a full end of all the nations
among whom I scattered you,
but of you I will not make a full end.
30:11 ch. 46:28I will 30:11 See ch. 10:24discipline you in just measure,
and I will by no means leave you unpunished.

12“For thus says the Lord:
30:12 See ch. 15:18Your hurt is incurable,
30:12 ch. 10:19; 14:17and your wound is grievous.
13There is none to uphold your cause,
no medicine for your wound,
30:13 ch. 46:11no healing for you.
1430:14 Lam. 1:2; [ch. 4:30] All your lovers have forgotten you;
they care nothing for you;
for I have dealt you the blow of 30:14 Job 13:24; 19:11; Isa. 63:10; Lam. 2:4an enemy,
the punishment 30:14 Job 30:21; [ch. 6:23] of a merciless foe,
because your guilt is great,
30:14 ch. 5:6because your sins are flagrant.
1530:15 [See ver. 12above] Why do you cry out over your hurt?
30:15 [See ver. 12above] Your pain is incurable.
Because your guilt is great,
30:15 [See ver. 14above]because your sins are flagrant,
I have done these things to you.
1630:16 [ver. 11; ch. 10:25; Isa. 41:11] Therefore all who devour you shall be devoured,
and 30:16 [Ex. 23:22] all your foes, every one of them, shall go into captivity;
30:16 [Isa. 33:1] those who plunder you shall be plundered,
30:16 ch. 2:14and all who prey on you I will make a prey.
1730:17 ch. 33:6For I will restore 30:17 ch. 8:22health to you,
and 30:17 Ps. 6:2; Hos. 6:1your wounds I will heal,
declares the Lord,
because 30:17 [Mic. 4:6, 7; Zeph. 3:19]they have called you an outcast:
30:17 [Mic. 4:6, 7; Zeph. 3:19]‘It is Zion, for whom no one cares!’

18“Thus says the Lord:
Behold, 30:18 [Amos 9:11]; See ver. 3I will restore the fortunes of the tents of Jacob
and have compassion on his dwellings;
the city shall be rebuilt on 30:18 Deut. 13:16its mound,
and the palace shall stand where it used to be.
1930:19 ch. 31:12, 13; 33:11; Isa. 35:10; 51:11Out of them shall come songs of thanksgiving,
and the voices of those who celebrate.
30:19 Ezek. 36:10, 37; Zech. 10:8I will multiply them, and they shall not be few;
I will make them honored, and they shall not be small.
2030:20 Isa. 1:26Their children shall be as they were of old,
and their congregation shall be established before me,
and I will punish all who oppress them.
2130:21 [Gen. 49:10; Deut. 18:18] Their prince shall be one of themselves;
30:21 [Gen. 49:10; Deut. 18:18] their ruler shall come out from their midst;
30:21 Num. 16:5I will make him draw near, and he shall approach me,
30:21 ch. 49:19; [Heb. 5:4]for who would dare of himself to approach me?
declares the Lord.
2230:22 ch. 24:7; 31:1; 32:38; See ch. 31:33; Lev. 26:12And you shall be my people,
and I will be your God.”

2330:23 ch. 23:19, 20Behold 30:23 ch. 25:32the storm of the Lord!
Wrath has gone forth,
a whirling tempest;
it will burst upon the head of the wicked.
2430:24 See ch. 12:13The fierce anger of the Lord will not turn back
until he has executed and accomplished
the intentions of his mind.
30:24 Hos. 3:5In the latter days you will understand this.
