Jeremiah 第20章
Jeremiah Persecuted by Pashhur
1Now 20:1 ch. 21:1; 38:1; 1 Chr. 9:12; [Ezra 2:38] Pashhur the priest, the son of 20:1 1 Chr. 24:14; Ezra 2:37Immer, who was 20:1 [ch. 29:26]chief officer in the house of the Lord, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things.
2Then 20:2 [See ver. 1above] Pashhur beat Jeremiah the prophet, and put him 20:2 ch. 29:26; Acts 16:24in the stocks that were in the upper 20:2 ch. 37:13Benjamin Gate of the house of the Lord.
3The next day, when 20:3 [See ver. 1above]Pashhur released Jeremiah from the stocks, Jeremiah said to him, “The Lord does not call your name 20:3 [See ver. 1above]Pashhur, but Terror on Every Side.
4For thus says the Lord: Behold, I will make you 20:4 See ch. 6:25a terror to yourself and to all your friends. They shall fall by the sword of their enemies while you look on. And I will give all Judah into the hand of the king of Babylon. He shall carry them captive to Babylon, and shall strike them down with the sword.
5Moreover, 20:5 [2 Kgs. 20:17]; See 2 Kgs. 24:12-16; 25:13-17I will give all the wealth of the city, all its gains, all its 20:5 Job 28:10; Ezek. 22:25prized belongings, and all the treasures of the kings of Judah into the hand of their enemies, who shall plunder them and seize them and carry them to Babylon.
and I was deceived;
20:7 [2 Pet. 1:21] you are stronger than I,
and you have prevailed.
20:7 Ps. 119:51; Lam. 3:14I have become a laughingstock all the day;
everyone mocks me.
8For whenever I speak, I cry out,
I shout, 20:8 ch. 6:7“Violence and destruction!”
For 20:8 ch. 6:10the word of the Lord has become for me
9If I say, “I will not mention him,
or speak any more in his name,”
shut up in my bones,
and 20:9 ch. 6:11I am weary with holding it in,
and I cannot.
20:10 See ch. 6:25Terror is on every side!
“Perhaps he will be deceived;
and take our revenge on him.”
therefore my persecutors will stumble;
20:11 See ch. 1:8they will not overcome me.
for they will not succeed.
Their 20:11 ch. 23:40eternal dishonor
will never be forgotten.
12O Lord of hosts, who tests the righteous,
20:12 See ch. 11:20who sees the heart and the mind,20:12 Hebrew kidneys
let me see your vengeance upon them,
for to you have I committed my cause.
praise the Lord!
For he has delivered the life of the needy
from the hand of evildoers.
on which I was born!
The day when my mother bore me,
let it not be blessed!
15Cursed be the man who brought the news to my father,
“A son is born to you,”
20:15 [John 16:21]making him very glad.
16Let that man be like 20:16 Gen. 19:25; Isa. 13:19the cities
that the Lord overthrew without pity;
20:16 ch. 18:22let him hear a cry in the morning
and an alarm at noon,
so my mother would have been my grave,
and her womb forever great.
and spend my days in shame?
