Isaiah 第33章
O Lord, Be Gracious to Us
who yourself have not been destroyed,
you traitor,
whom none has betrayed!
When you have ceased to destroy,
you will be destroyed;
and when you have finished betraying,
they will betray you.
Be our arm every morning,
our salvation in the time of trouble.
333:3 ch. 17:13; [2 Kgs. 19:7]At the tumultuous noise peoples flee;
when you lift yourself up, nations are scattered,
4and your spoil is gathered as the caterpillar gathers;
he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness,
abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge;
the fear of the Lord is Zion’s33:6 Hebrew his treasure.
7Behold, their heroes cry in the streets;
33:7 [ch. 36:22; 2 Kgs. 18:37]the envoys of peace weep bitterly.
the traveler ceases.
33:8 [ver. 1]; See 2 Kgs. 18:14-17Covenants are broken;
cities33:8 Masoretic Text; Dead Sea Scroll witnesses are despised;
there is no regard for man.
Lebanon is confounded and withers away;
Sharon is like a desert,
and Bashan and Carmel shake off their leaves.
“now I will lift myself up;
now I will be exalted.
12And the peoples will be as if burned to lime,
33:12 [See ver. 11above]like thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.”
13Hear, you who are far off, what I have done;
and you who are near, acknowledge my might.
14The sinners in Zion are afraid;
trembling has seized the godless:
33:14 [Ps. 15:1; 24:3] “Who among us can dwell 33:14 ch. 66:15; Heb. 12:29with the consuming fire?
Who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?”
who despises the gain of oppressions,
who shakes his hands, lest they hold a bribe,
who stops his ears from hearing of bloodshed
33:15 Ps. 119:37and shuts his eyes from looking on evil,
16he will dwell on the heights;
his place of defense will be the fortresses of rocks;
“Where is he who counted, where is 33:18 [2 Kgs. 18:14] he who weighed the tribute?
Where is 33:18 [Ps. 48:12]he who counted the towers?”
1933:19 [2 Kgs. 19:32, 33] You will see no more the insolent people,
the people 33:19 ch. 28:11; Deut. 28:49, 50of an obscure speech that you cannot comprehend,
stammering in a tongue that you cannot understand.
20Behold Zion, the city of our appointed feasts!
33:20 ch. 32:18Your eyes will see Jerusalem,
an untroubled habitation, an 33:20 ver. 6immovable tent,
whose stakes will never be plucked up,
nor will any of its cords be broken.
21But there the Lord in majesty will be for us
nor majestic ship can pass.
the Lord is our 33:22 [1 Sam. 12:13]king; he will save us.
23Your cords hang loose;
they cannot hold the mast firm in its place
or keep the sail spread out.
33:23 [Gen. 49:27] Then prey and spoil in abundance will be divided;
even 33:23 [Ps. 68:12]the lame will take the prey.
33:24 ch. 1:25, 26; Jer. 50:20the people who dwell there will be forgiven their iniquity.
