The Collection for the Saints
1Now concerning16:1 The expression Now concerning introduces a reply to a question in the Corinthians’ letter; see 7:1; also verse 1216:1 See Acts 24:17the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do.
2On 16:2 Acts 20:7; [Rev. 1:10] the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, 16:2 2 Cor. 8:3, 11as he may prosper, 16:2 2 Cor. 9:3so that there will be no collecting when I come.
3And when I arrive, I will send 16:3 [2 Cor. 8:18, 19]those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem.
4If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me.
