The Refuge of the Righteous

1Listen to my words, Lord;

for I pray to you.

3In the morning,5:3 Ps 88:13 Lord, you hear my voice;

4For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil cannot dwell with you.5:4 Ps 92:15
5The boastful cannot stand in your sight;5:5 Ps 1:5; 73:3; 75:4

6You destroy those who tell lies;5:6 Rv 21:8
the Lord abhors violent and treacherous people.5:6 Ps 55:23

7But I enter your house
by the abundance of your faithful love;5:7 Ps 69:13; 86:5,15; 106:45; Is 63:7
I bow down toward your holy temple
in reverential awe of you.5:7 Ps 138:2
8 Lord, lead me in your righteousness5:8 Ps 27:11
because of my adversaries;
make your way straight before me.5:8 Pr 4:11

9For there is nothing reliable in what they say;5:9 Ps 52:2
destruction is within them;
their throat is an open grave;
they flatter with their tongues.5:9 Ps 12:3; Pr 26:28; Rm 3:13
10Punish them, God;
let them fall by their own schemes.5:10 Ps 9:16; 35:8; 141:10
Drive them out5:10 Mt 13:41–42 because of their many crimes,
for they rebel against you.5:10 Pr 17:11

11But let all who take refuge in you rejoice;5:11 Ps 2:12; 64:10
let them shout for joy forever.

12For you, Lord, bless the righteous one;
